Super Basic Knowledge of “Mediterranean Diet” Cheerily, Enjoyably, Eat and Lose weight
I wrote about Mediterranean diet before, but I think there should someone wants to know about it more or few so I will dig of it deep even little.
It is a method of diet coming from Greece and southern Italy.
It’s been said that effective for anti-aging and, preventive and improving for cardiovascular disease or cancers since quite long time ago.
You can hear or see this method everywhere like on a TVs or on a internet or a papers. Here is a picture as follows that used typically for Mediterranean diet pyramid.
Let’s say...
Eat a lot
- Fruits
- Vegetables
- Whole grain
- Olive oil
- Nuts, Beans, Legumes
- Herds, Spices
- Seafoods
Moderately eat
- Chicken meat
- Dairy products such as, Cheese or Yogurt
- Eggs
Occasionally eat
- Lean Meats such as a beef, a mutton, or a pork
Not to eat
- Refined grains such as, commercially available bread or pasta
- Overall Processed foods
- Salad oil
- Margarine
Compared to Paleolithic diet that I picked up before, the Mediterranean diet can take bit of the bread and pasta if it’s made by whole grain that the differences.
Lists on classic foods of the Mediterranean diet
* vegetables: Spinach, Onion, Carrot, Cucumber, Broccoli, Tomato
* Fruited: Orange, Strawberry, Grape, Apple, Fig, Date
* Root vegetables: Potato, Sweet potato, Yam
* Nuts: Almond, Macadamia, Walnut, Cashew
* Beans: Soybeans, Lentils, Kidney beans, Chick pea
* Whole grain: While wheat, Oats, Brown rice, Rye, Soybeans, Buckwheat flour(Soba flour)
* Seafoods: Salmon, Tuna, Sardine, Codfish, Oyster, Shrimp, Hard clam, Mussel, Crab
* Chicken and Eggs: Chicken, Duck, Turkey
* Dairy products: Cheese, Yogurt, Greek yogurt
* Herbs: Garlic, Mint, Rosemary, Sage, Nutnmeg, Cinnamon, Basil
* Fats: Extra virgin olive oil, Avocado oil
* Drinks: Main source is a water, One cup of Wine in a day, Coffee and Tea is fine
Take it easy to think, just think “Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and baked fishes with ice oil.” Something like that.
