Yasuko lies flat beside the dead body.
Yasuko: What I say… you're already dead. That's what it means. So I
don't have to be nervous. That's what it means. Hey, you. Your performance was really good. Now, are you pretending to be
dead? Hey!! Are you dying? Oh, you don't leave things. Not
yet, huh? Okay, okay, good, good, good. I guess, it's my job. I
did it.
Yasuko puts her cheeks on the dead body.
62. ON THE ROAD, AT THE STREET CLOSURE OF THE CONSTRUCTION SITE
The middle-aged man and Suzuki are smoking their tobacco. Yasuko walks on with a brisk stride.
Suzuki: He-hey!
Middle-aged man: He-hey!
Masako: She looks pretty cute.
Yuya: Maybe, she will pass. Don't you think?
62A. AT THE STAGE OF THE AUDITION
Joe: Kobayashi, may I start this?
Kobayashi: Yes, please. Let's start.
63. AT THE STAGE OF THE AUDITION, AT THE HALLWAY
Yasuko still sits. The young applicants are speaking to each other near Yasuko.
Junior A: And then, at Shibuya. I found a girl.
Junior B: She's so cute. You succeed in inviting her.
Junior C: Pretty cute, huh?
Junior B: Everyone looks cute.
Junior C: So am I. I'll speak.
Yasuko: Hey! Zip your mouth!!
Yasuko yells at the young applicants. They become silent.
Yasuko: Be nervous about your life, forever! Then, you get used to
being nervous. If you continue to be nervous, that's the way
it is.
Applicants: …. ….
Yasuko: If you're nervous, you get used to being nervous. Then, be
more nervous. Understand, guys? I'll say, that your stage will
be right here. (point out the floor) So be nervous, huh?
Then, you can come up here. (point a little higher on the
floor) If you get used to being nervous, just still be nervous.
Here! Right here. Then be more nervous. Come up right
here. It feels very comfortable. Understand it?
Applicants: Yes, ma'am!
Yasuko goes back to her seat.
64. AT THE SITE OF THE AUDITION, IN THE STUDIO
Joe: So, let's start it. Set! Action!
Koizumi: Look at those people on the lonely street. Look at the
shopping mall filled with passersby. They are the crowd.
They don’t have any real face. Everybody puts a mask on.
Flouring like a sign. We are crowded. Also, you may. I’ve
already forgotten my face. My voice got lost…
Suddenly, Yasuko punches Koizumi's stomach and slaps him.
Koizumi: Ha…
Yasuko punches and kicks his stomach and slaps him several times. She slaps! And slaps!
Joe: Cut ~ cut ~!!
Yasuko: Remember! Remember! You know what!
Joe pulls up crazy Yasuko from Koizumi and lets her back to the chair.
Joe: Anything left to think about it?
Yasuko: I have! I hate your movie! I don't feel like to do it! Go to hell!
Everyone, go to hell! I mean… sorry, oops. (Change her face)
Honestly, I stake my fate in this audition for my life. Please
give me a lead.
Yasuko gives a bow for her politeness. Katako takes her photos.
Muto: I feel creepy. That's killing us.
Yasuko: My dad dies…
Kobayashi: Um?
Yasuko: I feel clear when my dad dies. It's great for my play. Um,
clear. It's clear my hateful dad goes to hell.
Kobayashi: Dead?
Yasuko: Hmm, it feels like stabbing myself in my chest with a knife.

Joe: Thanks for joining us.
Yasuko gets away from the studio.
65. AT THE SITE OF THE AUDITION, AT THE HALLWAY
Yasuko gets out of the studio. All of the talkative applicants become silent when they see her. Yasuko is walking in the hallway.
Yasuko: Whoa!
Yasuko screams and makes a threat. Everyone was surprised at her. Yasuko goes away.

62、 路上・工事現場の通行止め
タバコを吸っているおっさんと鈴木。安子がサァーと通っていく。
鈴木とおっさん： お、おい！
マサコ： なかなかいい子だね
ユウヤ： 受かるんじゃない？
62A、 オーディション会場内
ジョー： 監督、もう始めちゃってもいいですか？
小林： うん、いいよ。いこう
63、 オーディション会場・廊下
じっと座っている安子。その隣で喋っている若者たち。
若者A： でさ、渋谷でさ、女の子拾って
若者B： あれやばいよな、よくやったよね
若者C： それ本当まじヤベーよ
若者B： みんなマジ可愛かったよ。
若者C： 確かに確かに。だよね、だよね・・・
安子： ちょっと！静かにして！
怒鳴る安子。シーンとする若者たち。
安子： 人生、ずーっとキンチョーしてろ。そしたら、キンチョーに
慣れるから。キンチョーし続けてたらそれが普通になんだか
ら
若者たち： ・・・・
安子： キンチョーしてたらキンチョーに慣れる。そしたらもっとキ
ンチョーしろ。オメーらな、いいか？オメーらレベル的に言
うとだな、ここくらいに（床に指さして）キンチョーしてく
れ。な。そしたら、ここ（床のちょっと上）に来れっから。
そこで慣れてきたらまたキンチョー。ここ！ここにくる。す
んげぇいい感じになるから。わかった？
若者たち： ハイ！
自分の席に戻っていく安子。
64、 オーディション会場・室内
ジョー： じゃあ、行きます。よーい！スタート！
小泉： 見てごらんよ、この孤独な通りの人々を。通行人でごった返す
商店街。群衆だ。顔のない人だかり。みんな仮面を被ってい
る。記号みたいに流れていく。僕たちは皆、群衆だ。君も、そ
う。僕はもう自分の顔も忘れた。自分の声も・・・
いきなり安子が小泉を腹パンし、ひっぱたく。
小泉： ちょっ
安子は何度も小泉を腹パンし、ひっぱたく。ひっぱたく！ひっぱたく！
ジョー： カットーカットー！！
安子： 思い出せ！思い出せ！わかってんのかよ！
ジョー、狂気的な安子を小泉から引き剝がし椅子に座らせる。
ジョー： 何か思い残すこととかあれば
安子： あるよ！あんたの映画嫌いだし！映画なんてやる気ねぇよ！死
ね！全員死ね！っていうかすいませーん、テヘッ（ケロっと変
わって）正直、このオーディションにかけてます。どうぞ、よ
ろしくお願いします
安子、きちんとお辞儀をする。方子、安子の写真を撮る。
武藤： すごい殺気を感じたんだけど
安子： 父が死んでしまって
小林： ん？
安子： 父が死んでスッキリ。芝居にも良いっス。ハイ、スッキリ。にく
ったらしい親父死んでスッキリ
小林： 死んだの？
安子： なんか、自分で胸にグサッとナイフを刺したみたいで。自殺か
な。むかし、むかし、私は父に恋をしました。あ、今日着ている
この服は父に初めて犯された夜の服です。恋しました。ハイ。い
や、恋じゃなくって、恋と似たものを、こう、人差し指と親指
で、ギュッとハエを遺すように殺す。汁がいっぱい飛び散って大

小林： 恋は苦手です

安子： （いすを蹴り飛ばし）恋愛っつうか、ただの何つうか。嵐と
か、風の強い夜とかって、傘、飛んでった古新聞とかがピュー
っと飛んでいって、公園の黒い小枝にビターっとくっつい
て・・・ハイ！あれが私の恋です。ただくっつくだけ、くっつ
いたらセックスして、最後殺す。お別れ。そんなもんっス
小林： 風に身を任せていつも（詩のように、と言いかけたが安子が止
める）・・・
安子： そんないいもんじゃないッス、寂しくて、性欲。何つーか、そ
んだけ。じゃあ、これから死体切り刻んで、どっか捨てに行か
なくちゃいけないんで。ここいらで、失礼します。テヘッ
ジョー： お疲れ様でした
安子、去っていく。
65、 同・廊下
出てくる安子。喋っていたみんなは安子を見てシーンとなる。廊下を歩いていく安子。
安子： ワァ！
と大声でおどす。みんなビクッとなる。安子、去っていく。
NOTES
■ zip your mouth!
zipは「（チャックなど）を締める」という意味。「お口にチャックだ！」というニュアンスで「黙っていろ！」と叫び、場の空気を一変させる表現として用いられる。shut your mouthという強めの言い方もできる。
■ be nervous
安子がオーディションの志願者たちに放つ言葉。If you are nervous. be more nervous!（キンチョーしてたら、もっとキンチョーしろ！）というように、緊張を促す言い方である。狂喜乱舞の安子にYes, ma'am!（ハイ！）と言った若者たちは発言の意味が分からず、ただ返事をしたことを示している。
■ go to hell!
「地獄へ堕ちろ！」という意味。反対はgo to heavenで「昇天する」。
■ hara-kiri
日本のサムライ文化の風習。本来は武将が戦での指導で失態を出し、敗北した責任を取って腹に刀をついて切る行為であるから、転じて「自刃、自殺」という意味で使われる。
■ index finger
手の部位やパーツについての英語は主に7つある。thumb「親指」、index finger「人差し指」、middle finger「中指」、ring finger「薬指」、little finger「小指」、palm「手のひら」、wrist「手首」。green thumbは親指が緑色になるくらいに植物をいじっているという語源から「園芸の才」という意味で用いられる。
ex. Wow, you have a green thumb.（おお、園芸がお上手ですね。）
