製作ノート（72）『珠光の庵～遣の巻～』出演者インタビュー②

劇団衛星『珠光の庵～遣の巻～』制作の吉岡です。
今回も引き続き、出演者の皆さんへのインタビューをお送りします！

高田晴菜さん as こだま

自己紹介をお願いします。
―『珠光の庵〜遣の巻〜』にこだまとして出演させて頂きます、高田晴菜(たかた はるな)です。2020年3月に京都芸術大学(旧京都造形芸術大学)舞台芸術学科を卒業し、春からフリーランスで俳優をしています。今年の2月にユニット美人の公演のお手伝いと出演させて頂いたことがきっかけで、ユニット美人の作品に出演したり、ワークショップのお手伝いをしたりしています。

『珠光の庵〜遣の巻〜』英語キャストには自ら立候補されたと伺いましたが、その経緯や今の心境について教えてください。
―みなさん｢猛者が現れた｣と衝撃を受けられていて、私が1番驚いています…。最初は｢英語キャストを探している｣というお話を伺って、参考の動画を頂いた時、正直｢このくらいなら私にも出来るかも？｣と思って声を上げました。他の俳優を推しても良かったんですが、なんか悔しくて…！！(私も一応俳優志望なので…)
しかし、暗唱するセリフの量と稽古日の少なさを知ってものすごく焦りました。蓮行さんはセリフが詰まったらすぐ降板させかねないと、劇団員のみなさんから鼓舞していただいて(笑)、急いで電子辞書と台本を持って机に向かいました。高校のテストの時より勉強しているんじゃないかなと思います。
英語を話しながら演技をすることが人生初の体験なので、楽しみであり不安です。日本語キャストのセリフに重ねて通訳していくのもすごく難しいです。ですが、同じ英語キャストの柴田さんや藤井さん、劇団のみなさんのお力を借りながらすごく楽しく稽古させていただいています。

そのチャレンジ精神、とても尊敬します…本編がますます楽しみになりました。
では最後に、今公演の意気込みをどうぞ！
―2020年は新型コロナウイルスの影響もあり、誰もが苦しい1年だったと思います。しかし、2021年、新しい1年の始まりに、コロナを吹き飛ばすくらい笑ってもらえるような素敵な作品にしたいと思います。

Hello, I'm Chihiro Yoshioka, a production manager of Juko's IORI "the messenger's account".
Today, let me present the short interview to Takata-san!

Haruna Takata as Kodama

Firstly, please introduce yourself briefly.
―I’m Haruna Takata. I’ll act as Kodama in Juko’s IORI “The messenger’s account”. Graduated from Kyoto University of the Arts (ex. Kyoto University of Art and Design) in March 2020, I started to work as freelance actor this spring. Since I joined and supported Unit Bijin’s play last February as a performer, I’ve often appeared in their plays and helped their workshop.

I heard you wished to join as English-speaking cast on yourself, so could you tell me why you've stood for the role and how you're feeling now?
―Other casts are amazed by how brave I am to act the English speaking cast, but actually I also surprised with the fact... At first, I heard Eisei Theatre Group was calling for English speaking cast and got their play’s movie for reference. To be honest it seems I can try it, so I’ve decided to stand for the role. I could recommend other actors to Eisei as well, but somehow, I thought I’ll regret...! (For now I'm also an actor...)
I was really upset when I found the long lines I should perform, and the limited time of practice. Eisei members supported me a lot saying “Rengyou-san will dismiss you if I stuttered.” After that, I rushed to my desk with electronic dictionary and the script. Probably I’m studying much harder than when I was in high school and took exams.
Since this is my first experience acting as speaking English, I’m really excited as well as nervous. But now I’m enjoying the practice a lot supported by Shibata-san and Fujii-san as the same English casts, and Eisei members.

I really admire your spirit to challenge... It made me more excited to see the play.
Lastly, would you express your wish for Juko’s IORI “The messenger’s account”?
―The year 2020 hard for everyone affected by COVID-19. However, in the beginning of the new year 2021, I’ll try my best to create such a wonderful play that it could blow up the COVID-19!
