山の日：2023年8月11日（金）

8月11日の「山の日」は，2016（平成28）年に始まった国民の祝日である。8月11日のこの日を山の日とする特別な理由があった訳ではない。

　「山の日」は，もともと，祝日を新たに作ることが目的であって，さまざまな理由を調整して8月11日となった。

　一方，「国民の祝日に関する法律の一部を改正する法律」等に基づいて，成人の日，海の日，敬老の日，スポーツの日（旧：体育の日）は「ハッピーマンデー制度」が適用されており，指定された固定型の月曜日であり，毎年の祝日の日付が異なっている。

　現在，日本の国民の祝日は年間16日間あり，6月と12月には祝日がない。5月に3日間，1月，2月，9月，11月にそれぞれ2日間の祝日がある。もっと月ごとに平準化すべきである。

Mountain Day：August 11th(Friday)

"Mountain Day" on August 11th is a national holiday that began in the year 2016 (Heisei 28). There isn't a specific reason for designating August 11th as Mountain Day.

The primary purpose of "Mountain Day" was originally to establish a new holiday, and various reasons were adjusted to settle on August 11th.

On the other hand, based on laws such as the "Act on National Holidays," Coming of Age Day, Marine Day, Respect for the Aged Day, and Health and Sports Day (formerly known as Taiiku Day) are subject to the "Happy Monday System." They are observed on designated fixed Mondays, causing the dates of these annual holidays to vary.

Currently, Japan has 16 national holidays throughout the year, with no holidays in June and December. There are three holidays in May, and two holidays in each of January, February, September, and November. It might be better to distribute them more evenly across the months.
