又、花粉の季節がやってきますが、今年は飛散量が多いそうです。

やっかいですね。

2023年に、スギ林の伐採面積を増やして、花粉症の症状を和らげようとした試みがありましたが、その後、関連のニュースを聞かなくなりました。

In May 2023, the government adopted new strategies to combat pollen allegies.  It decided to increase rate of logging of cedar forest plantations from the current 50,000 hactares to 70,000 hactares.

combat = 戦う
pollen allegies = 花粉症
logging = 伐採
cedar = スギ

The governmemnt set a target to reduce the area of such forests by about 20% by the end of fiscal year 2033.

target = 目標

最近は、そもそも花粉を作らない、スギへの改良も行なわれているそうです。

環境に害を与えない形で、何らかの成果が出る日が、待ち遠しいですね。
