藪手毬

藪手毬 （ヤブデマリ）


レンプクソウ科、ガマズミ属、の落葉低木


日本を原産とし、本州では関東より西部に
自生するもので四国や九州の範囲となる。


紫陽花（アジサイ）の様に、周囲を大きな
無性花である装飾花が、中央部に密集して
咲く両性花を取り囲むスタイルとなる。


この装飾花が特徴的で、５枚花弁の１枚が
とても小さいのが、本種の特徴となる。

YABUDEMARI

Yabudemari (Viburnum plicatum var. tomentosum)

Yabudemari is a deciduous shrub belonging to the Adoxaceae family and the Viburnum genus.

Native to Japan, it grows naturally in regions west of the Kanto area on Honshu, as well as in Shikoku and Kyushu.

Similar to hydrangeas (Ajisai), it has a flowering style where large sterile decorative flowers surround a cluster of small fertile flowers in the center.

A distinctive feature of this species is its decorative flowers, where one of the five petals is notably smaller than the others.
