The Soul Food
In the middle of the night, I woke up and suddenly felt like making Onigiri (rice balls). I dashed to the kitchen, opened the fridge, and poured a glass of juice. I drank it straight. I thought of a nice umeboshi onigiri—my soul food, Japan's soul food. There are always so many onigiri waiting for Japanese people coming back from abroad at the convenience stores in Narita Airport. And people buy them.
Soul food is something you feel like making in the middle of the night.
