Weekly question #59 Do you buy Christmas presents at all?

This is my article about weekly question from 英語手帳 2024. The theme in December is "Shopping vs. saving" （買い物か貯蓄か）.




Weekly question: Do you buy Christmas presents at all?

I used to buy Christmas presents for my husband every year before we got married. However, we changed our ways of celebrating Christmas. We are now able to celebrate the day together. That's much more precious time than giving gifts to each other.

I would think about our dinner plan and I have already ordered the cake. The Christmas cake is usually the best cake of the year for us. We couldn't buy the cakes nearby since there wasn't any cake shop close enough to buy for our ordinary days. 

The dinner plan is always the same. I will bake pizza during the weekends close to Christmas day.

This is the article I wrote last year about Christmas. 

There may not be many differences from the past few years, but it's our way to celebrate our Christmas day.

そもそもクリスマスプレゼントを買いますか？

結婚する前は、夫に毎年、プレゼントを贈っていました。別にめちゃくちゃ高価なものとかでなく、お互いに欲しいなと思うものだったり。私の気分次第で、手作りお菓子になったり(笑)

結婚後は、プレゼントよりも一緒にクリスマスの日を過ごせることができるようになったので、夕食が豪華になったり、ケーキがあったりという感じです。夕食メニューは、ほぼ確定というか、もう決まりみたいなものです（笑）

ピザ！
何食べたいって、夫にいつ聞いても、ピザとしか答えてくれません(笑)

なので、物にこだわっていないかもしれません。上記の過去の英語記事を見ても、最近は、大体同じように、クリスマスを過ごしています。

特別、代わり映えしないかもしれませんが、二人で、クリスマスを楽しく過ごせたら良いなと思います。
