October 31, 2021：日本ハム、新庄剛志、発想力、投票日 (Nippon Ham Fighters, Tsuyoshi Shinjo, Creativity, Polling Day)

Tsuyoshi Shinjo accepted a role as team coach for the Nippon Ham Fighters, a professional baseball club. The news extremely surprised and excited me.
 I appreciate the club making such a decision. It is a strategic and bold decision that traditional clubs like Hanshin Tigers and Yomiuri Giants will never make. They do not need such an idea since winning is their best way to satisfy millions of loyal fans.
 “From a baseball field to a ballpark”. The Nippon Ham Fighters seems to have a passion for creating a “ballpark” that provides fans with the space like an amusement park” and prioritizes entertaining fans over winning. Shinjo san is fit to achieve the club’s passion since his creativity has surprised us a lot. I am thrilled to imagine that Shinjo san will appear at the club’s new ballpark in 2023.
 Today is the polling day for the Lower House election. I will go to a polling station with a glimmer of hope that the election may cause a small change.

新庄剛さんが日本ハムの監督に就任することが決まった。驚きに絶えない。
何よりも、こんな決断をした球団に敬意を表したい。阪神や巨人などの老舗球団にはできない決断だ。何百万もの固定のファンがいる老舗球団には、現状維持が最善の策であり、こんな判断は必要ない。
「野球場からボールパークへ」。勝つことも大事だが、球場を遊園地のようにファンが楽しめる場にしたいという球団の強い思いを感じる。新庄さんは、いつも突拍子もない発想力で世間を驚かせてくれる。そんな新庄さんなら、球団の思いを実現してくれそうだ。2023年に誕生する新球場に新庄監督が登場する場面を想像しただけでもワクワクする。

今日は、衆院選の投票日。少しは、変わることを期待して、投票に行きます。
