August 12, 2021: Advanced Grammar in Use

 I have used Advanced Grammar in Use to learn English Grammar. I have gone through the book twice already and am now making my third attempt on the book. The book is extremely difficult for me and I still have a lot of things that I fail to understand. But I cannot give up the book since I have a strong desire to fully understand the book. I need a lot of time to work on each unit, but I realize in the third attempt that I am gradually gaining my understanding on the book. Accordingly I will continue the third attempt with an eye to completing it within this year. Before using the book, I attempted English Grammar in Use three times and also have used Practical English Usage to check any question in doubt. In the beginning, I worried that I might fail to understand these English books, but it was nothing to worry about.
 In addition, I sometime use A New Guide to English Grammar by Taiichiro Egawa, an English Grammar book written in Japanese and finally understood how great the book is. In my student days, I tried the book, but it was so difficult that I failed to understand it at all. I am happy to see some improvement in my understanding on the book.

 Advanced Grammar in Useで英文法の勉強をしています。この本、めちゃくちゃ難しいですが、やみつきになりました。この本を既に2週しましたが、理解できていないことが山のようにあります。理解できていないことが分かりたいという気持ちが、この本をから離れられない理由です。各Unitをこなすのにかなりの時間を要しますが、3週目ともなると、少しは理解が進んでいることが感じられます。3週目は年内完了を目指します。この本の前は、English Grammar in Useを使いました。また、不明点は、Practical English Usageを使って調べています。いずれも、英語の本なので、はじめは理解できるのかという不安がありましたが、心配するほどのことはなかったです。

 また、たまに、英文法解説（江川泰一郎著）を使いますが、このほんの素晴らしさがようやく理解できるようになりました。学生時代に、この本を読んだことがありましたが、難しすぎてちんぷんかんぷんでした。ボクの理解力が少しは向上したかと思うとうれしいです。
