August 7, 2022: ボクの町、物流関連ビジネス、アマゾン、影響大（My Town, Distribution and Warehouse Business, Amazon, Significant Impact）

My town has still seen shops and restaurants close their businesses. An izakaya, a Japanese pub, closed its business a few days ago. But it has seen no store start its business since the outbreak of Covid-19. The ruins of a casual restaurant have remained vacant.
On the other hand, it is bustling with the distribution and warehouse business. It is in a good location for that business. It is within a thirty to forty-minute drive on a highway to central Tokyo. Thus, it attracts a lot of big players like Daiwa House Industry and GLP.
Among them is Amazon, which has just opened its distribution centre. That has a significant impact on the town. First, it has helped to increase employment. Then, it helps me to receive my online order far more quickly than before. They reach me within the following morning if I order on the night of a previous day. It leaves me no other choice for my online shopping.

　ボクの町では、相変わらず、閉店する店があります。先日も、居酒屋が閉店しました。そのしかし新規開店の話はまったくありません。ファミレスの跡地も依然として空いたままです。
　そんな町が物流関連のビジネスで賑わっています。高速道路を使うと都心まで30～40分くらいの所にあり、物流関連企業には好立地のようです。ダイワハウスやGLPなどの大手企業が集まっています。
　その中には、最近、配送センターを開設したばかりのアマゾンも入っています。アマゾンの効果はてきめんです。まず、雇用機会が増えました。そして、配送時間が格段に早くなりました。前日の夜に注文しても、翌日の午前中には受け取れます。こうなると、オンラインショッピングはアマゾン以外、考えられません。
