May 12, 2022: Mother’s Day, Gift from Daughter, Causing Trouble to Daughter （母の日、娘のプレゼント、娘に迷惑を掛ける）

 My wife received carnations from my daughter on Sunday, Mother's Day. She loved it very much.
 When I was retired, she gave me meal coupons for a luxury hotel in Tokyo, and I had lunch with my wife. It was a great time. I was extremely grateful to my daughter for it.
 At the same time, I deeply regret having troubled her due to my convenience. Her biggest challenge was when we moved to the UK for my job. She joined a local nursery and a primary school. She had to communicate in English there but had never learned English in Japan. Accordingly, she had to learn English and adjust to school life. It must have been hard work for her. But she never resisted or complained about going to school. She struggled hard alone and greatly improved her English. Around the time we left the UK for Japan, her English was so good that she grew to be her teacher's interpreter for her Japanese colleagues.

　母の日の日曜日に、娘から妻にカーネーションが届きました。妻はすごく気に入っていました。
　ボクが定年を迎えた時にも、娘から都内の高級ホテルの食事券をプレゼントしてくれました。いただいた食事券で妻とランチをしました。大変楽しい時間を過ごせ、感謝の気持ちで一杯でした。
 それと同時、娘には迷惑ばかりかけてきたという反省もあります。その最たるものが英国に駐在した時です。娘は現地の幼稚園と小学校に通いました。日本では英語を勉強していなかったので、学校で英語学びつつ、学校生活に慣れなければなりませんでした。きっと、順応するのは大変だったと思います。それでも、嫌な顔ひとつみせずに、通ってくれました。孤軍奮闘してくれたお陰で、英語は上達しました。帰国する頃には、先生に代わって日本人の同級生に通訳をするまでに成長しました。
