(Boating in Arashiyama)
If you visit Arashiyama, you should definitely experience “boating”.
As you board a boat from the boarding area a little north of the Togetsu Bridge and slowly move northward along the Oigawa River, you will gradually hear the sound of a flute playing in the distance, just like the expression in “The Pillow Book”.
The sight of Arashiyama is a little different from what you see from the land, and the sound of birdsong and flutes echoing through the canyon....
The flute player is Kazuya Sato.
I guess this is the kind of person who is a master of the flute in classical literature.
Arashiyama has many tourist attractions and delicious restaurants, but you can only appreciate the charm of Arashiyama by relaxing on a boat and listening to the sound of a flute echoing through the canyon.
It is a luxurious experience, as if you were an aristocrat in the Heian period....
The “boating” experience is only available for three days in spring and fall, so please check the schedule if you are planning to visit the area for sightseeing.
