Description of ENCOUNTER TEA

Thank you very much for cooperation in the tea project "ENCOUNTER TEA". My name is Basio Saito, the planner.

ENCOUNTER means "DEAI(出会い)", EN means ”Dependent co-arising (縁)” in Japanese, and COUNT means "counting".

Contents of the plan

It is a plan to connect tea caddies filled with Yakushima tea from Yakushima to Tokyo in a baton relay. Call out to acquaintances, shopkeepers, and people you meet locally, and hand them from person to person. There are checkpoints along the way. When you receive it, take a picture and upload it to SNS!! (Details below)

Yakushima tea is from Hachimanju Tea Garden. Read the story below to learn more.
By the way, this year marks the 30th anniversary since Yakushima was registered as a World Natural Heritage Site.

Purpose of planning

Talk to local people when you travel. The baton is connected from a small place where "sleeves are swung, but there are some edges", and the circle is shared on SNS. It's a little fun project that multiplied analog and digital. Assuming the theory of good nature, can Chavaton reach the goal safely? ? Also, as the demand for Japanese tea is decreasing these days, I would be happy if you could get interested in tea.

rule

① Call out to strangers and locals you meet on your travels with a little courage and pass the tea caddy as a baton to the next person.

② Take a picture when you receive it.
・Upload to Instagram. The hashtag is #encountertea8910
・If you cannot upload photos to Instagram, please send photos to the official LINE account or Gmail. (details later)

Checkpoint

*The order of passing the checkpoints does not have to be in the order of numbers.

1 → Ise Jingu (Mie Prefecture)
2 → Mt. Fuji (Shizuoka/Yamanashi Prefecture)
3 → Sakurajima (Kagoshima Prefecture)
4, 5 → 4-5 without saying (no essentials)
6 → Rokuharamitsuji Temple (Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto Prefecture)
7 → Nara Park (Nara Prefecture) * Deer and Todaiji are also acceptable.
8, 9 → Yakushima (departure point)
10 → Tokyo (tourist attractions such as Tokyo Station, Tokyo Tower, Sky Tree, Kaminarimon)

Shooting and SNS

~ Multiply EN "COUNT" and specify 1 to 10 places as checkpoints ~

●Subject:
It doesn't matter if the tea canister cover (as a baton) is attached or not.
●Background:
・Your favorite place within the period you hold the baton
・Designated checkpoints (locations that can be seen at a glance)

*If you don't mind being shown yourself, it's OK to show more and more.

About holding a tea party (tea leaves arrived safely)

We are planning to hold a tea party (in Tokyo or Chiba) using the arrived [tea leaves] and different tea leaves from the same tea garden.

▼ Details of the tea party (planned)

・Impressions of those who cooperated
・PR for Hachimanju Tea Garden
・PR for 30 years since Yakushima was registered as a World Natural Heritage Site
・Looking back on the trip while talking about Japanese tea

▼For those who participated in this event

When it arrives, I would like to express my gratitude and report that I will be able to participate in the tea party for free.

▼Contact method

① Please let us know your contact information if you would like to participate in the tea party for free. You can also DM on SNS. We will contact you later regarding the date, time and location.

② If you would like to send tea leaves by mail (for those who cannot participate in the tea party), you will need your real name and address. Please fill out and send from SNS DM, LINE official account or email.

*Personal information will not be used for anything other than this case. *If we do not hear from you, we will not be able to send it. *The tea ceremony may be held online due to the corona crisis and other social conditions. *If the tea leaves you traveled to are not enough, we will deliver the same tea leaves from Yakushima.

lastly

Thank you very much for participating in this project that no one has ever done. At a time when it's hard to find bright topics, this project is built on the belief that human nature is good. I would appreciate it if I could play a part in the fun memories through Japanese tea. Also, I would be happy if you take this opportunity to become interested in Japanese tea.
