I do not think that online courses are as effective as traditional classes in terms of costs and motivation.
I have two reasons to support my opinion.
One reason is that giving all students digital devices, for example, laptops, tablets computers and smartphone are too expensive. In addition, these machines need a lot of electricity and communication costs. Every student not necessarily afford to be able to pay.
Another reason is that teachers are difficult to watch their students studying truly. Needless to say, students often would be lazy if no one was watching. Competing with others and moderate discipline in the classroom is the best way for students motivation.
In conclusion,for above two reasons, I believe that online courses are not as effective as traditional classes.
