Forget just forgetting again and again
Forget, just keep forgetting again and again
Thirty years ago, in 1993, artist L published the first photos of love gestures in Tokyo, Japan.
Twenty years ago in 2003, he left Japan after the horrific SARS epidemic. He was shocked when the nuclear power plant was destroyed in the 2011 Fukushima earthquake. Nuclear pollution may kill many people. He felt very scared and was stimulated to create. A4 rectangular three-dimensional origami.
Ten years ago, in 2013, he wrote his first book (Origami). His three-dimensional origami video and introduction are posted on the official website of his alma mater, Osaka University. Therefore, he was recommended to teach three-dimensional origami in a kindergarten in Mie, Japan, a classroom for autistic children in Osaka, and a prestigious elementary school in Tokyo.
In the summer of 2021, during the COVID-19 epidemic, he was sad and frightened when he saw many people dying. He cried more than the most tears in his life at one time. In the war in Eastern Europe in 2022, many people died, and people's opinions were extremely opposite. I created the work "Viewpoint" by people with opposite palms, and the "Peace Dove" is sick, and I will rely on the "Peace Frog" in the future.
In the early summer of 2023, he returned to Japan, where he had been away for thirty years, to live for four months, only to find that the world had changed, becoming much worse than the peaceful and prosperous era of 1986, the Year of World Peace. At the end of October, he was even more worried about the war in the Middle East. He changed the title of his "Backhand" work to "Hand of Peace" because he could not use firearms or murder weapons. I replaced my left and right hands with small doll toys. Then he added an "alien" origami head to the headless doll. This head was the origami shape of elementary school children when he came to Japan to teach kindergarten. It has sunken eyes and two pointed ears outside the eyes. Inside the eyes are upper and lower beaks, and the upper beak has nostrils. There is a red heart on the chest.
The alien doll in the work is the "Savior" work, praying to save us humans from war.
He took part in the makeup walk in Shibuya at the end of the month with his origami look.
On November 11, he left the alien head shape folded from a commercial flyer in the restroom of the mall.
An hour before he lost it, he saw MN's peace-building appeal article "Today, Japanese people in the world v. えるべきことの一つ" on the note. It was because of thinking about this article that he forgot it.
He came up with the idea of a performance art, calling on peace-loving and kind-hearted people to use environmentally friendly advertising flyers to fold the alien head shape of "The Savior", and then "forgotten" it in art galleries and shopping malls around the world. , in restaurants around the world, in airports and train stations around the world, in the bathrooms of cruise ships around the world, on major festivals, in memory of 1986, the Year of World Peace, and in performance art activities.
The same "savior" alien head shape on the advertising page will become world news if more and more peace-loving anti-war people join in. The four sides of the shape mean "truth, goodness and beautiful life", pray to save human life!
This performance art appeal has nothing to do with specific language, writing, region, race, ethnicity, age, gender, religious belief, or political party.
Welcome to translate it into your native language and pass it on to your peace-loving and anti-war friends who have the same native language.
PS, artist L served as the publicity officer of Osaka Asia Friends Association and Asian Students Friends Association in the late 1980s.
