being posted on Twitter. The person who 

posted is a Japanese man named 

Shige. He was walking in an alley in Gamla 

Stan, Stockholm, when a girl suddenly 

offered him a loaf of bread.

He was wary for a moment, thinking it 

might a pushy sales targeting tourists

but when he asked, "Is this some kind of 

campaign?” The girl replied, "No. 

it's better to give it to someone who is 

hungry than to throw it away. If it's good, 

come to the store tomorrow, it's there.”

The next day, when he went to the store, 

the girl was not there, but he did some 

shopping. “It's a difficult time, but no one 

wants to be unhappy. I hope that we can 

live in a society where the true beauty of 

people and life can be appreciated.”

ーーーストックホルムで出会ったパンを配る少女ーーー

スウェーデン・ストックホルムの路地でパンを配る少女の写真がTwitterに投稿され話題になっています。投稿したのはShigeさんという日本人の男性で、ストックホルムのガムラスタンの路地を歩いていたところ、少女から急にパンを差し出された。

観光客を狙った押し売りかと一瞬警戒したが「これは何かのキャンペーンですか？」と尋ねると、少女は「違うわ、捨てるくらいならお腹が空いてる人にあげる方がいいに決まってるでしょ？美味しかったら明日お店に来てね。そこの店よ」と返してきたという。

「あまりに当たり前のことを当たり前のように答えられたので、聞いた自分が恥ずかしくなりました」とShigeさんは振り返って語ります。その翌日、お店に行くと少女はいなかったが買い物をしたそうです。「難しい時代ですが誰も不幸になりたい人間なんていません。人や人生の持つ本来の美しさが見直される社会でいる事ができたらと思います」
