• 憶えておいた方がよい言葉

1. cough
   「咳をする、罪を白状する、告白する」
   例文：
   A：「告白します。私が中学生のとき、授業中に消しカスをばれずに飛ばすことに夢中になっていました。ある日に私の後ろの席の生徒が消しカスが飛んでくるという理由で泣き出したのだが、私ではなく、私の前の席の生徒が犯人認定されました。」
   B：「尋問して、聞き出せた情報がこれか…」
   A: "I will cough up. When I was in junior high school, I was obsessed with making eraser shavings fly without being found in class. One day, a student seated behind me started crying because of the eraser shavings flying at her, but the student seated in front of me was identified as the culprit, not me."
   B: "This is the information we were able to get from the interrogation...."

2. I have a fever
   「高熱がある」
   例文：
   「ワクチンの後遺症のせいなのか、熱がでて、倦怠感がある。」
   "Maybe it's because of the after-effects of the vaccine, but I have a fever and feel tired."

3. unless
   「何かを始めない限り、人は成長しない。」
   "Unless you start something, you will not grow."

• 注意

1. "I have a fever"と同様な感覚で「私は味覚を感じない。」を"I have no taste."と訳す人がいそうだが、"I have no taste"は「私はセンスがない。」という意味である。

2. ”cough up”は「罪を告白する」という意味のスラングですが、尋問に関連したスラングです。
   「告白する」という英語を言いたい場合は、おとなしく”confess”を使いましょう。
