1.  The winter Olympics opening ceremony is about to get underway（開幕する）in Beijing with the guests arriving for the occasion but the run-up to these games.  Well, it's been fraught（緊迫した）with controversy many countries have announced a diplomatic boycott.

北京では冬季オリンピックの開会式が行われ、招待客が到着するところですが、この大会に向けては  多くの国が外交的ボイコットを表明し、論争を巻き起こしています。

2.  Just before the Opening Ceremony the leaders of China and Russia met in
Beijing Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin said they support each other's security and foreign policy aims.  Meanwhile, the White House has accused Russia of planning to fabricate（でっちあげる） a pretext（口実）to invade Ukraine.  The alleged plot involves a fake video showing an attack by the Ukrainian military.  

開会式の直前、中国とロシアの首脳が北京で会談しました。習近平とプーチンは、互いの安全保障と外交政策の目的を支持すると述べました。一方、ホワイトハウスは、ロシアがウクライナ侵攻の口実をでっち上げることを計画していると非難しています。ウクライナ軍による攻撃を示す偽のビデオを使った陰謀とされています。


3.  And more pressure is mounting on（強める、高める） UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson as a fifth advisor resigns from Downing street all within the last 24 hours.  Four top aides（側近者） left Mr. Johnson's team on Thursday.

ボリス・ジョンソン首相は、5人目の顧問がこの24時間のうちに辞任したことで、さらにプレッシャーを感じています。 4人の側近者たちが木曜日にジョンソン氏のチームを去っています。
