Jailed Saudi women’s rights activist Loujain al-Hathloul to be released ‘on Thursday’
刑務所にいるサウジアラビアの女性権利活動家、ジャイン・ハズールさんは「木曜日」に解放される予定だ。
A leading Saudi women’s rights activist who alleges she has been tortured in prison is expected to be released this Thursday after spending more than 1,000 days in jail.
1000日間以上刑務所で過ごし、刑務所で拷問にかけられた、と主張するサウジアラビアで女性権利活動を先導している活動家は木曜日に解放される。
Loujain al-Hathloul, who has been nominated for the Nobel peace prize, successfully campaigned for women to have the right to drive in Saudi Arabia.
ノーベル平和賞にノミネートされたジャイン・ハズルールさんは、サウジアラビアで女性が車を運転する権利を取得する運動に成功した。
“Can I kindly ask that we don't use the word 'free' or 'freed' in noting Loujain's potential release as it is not freedom,” she tweeted. “It is a potential release from prison and she is still under probation, travel ban and awaiting news of the appeal process.”
「ハズルールの解放の可能性に対して『自由』や『解放』という言葉を使わないで欲しい。」とハズルールさんの姉はツイートした。さらに「刑務所からの解放の可能性はあるが、彼女は執行猶予中の保護観察であり、また旅行禁止中で控訴の結果を待っている。」とした。
In December, the Specialised Criminal Court in Riyadh, which was set up to deal with terror cases, sentenced Loujain to five years and eight months in jail on terrorism-related charges and banned her from leaving the kingdom for half a decade.
12月に、テロリズムに関する事件などを処理するリヤドの特別犯罪裁判所はハズルールさんにテロリズムに関する罪で５年間８ヶ月の判決を下し、５年間サウジアラビア王国から出国する事を禁じた。

RIYADH: The family of Saudi citizen Loujain Al-Hathloul has confirmed her release from jail and that she is “back home.”
リヤド: サウジアラビア国民のジャイン・ハズールさんの家族は彼女の刑務所からの解放を確認し、「家に帰った」と述べた。
Her sister Lina posted the news on her Twitter account along with a screenshot of a video call that shows them together.
彼女の姉のリナさんはTwitterにハズールさんと一緒に電話しているスクリーンショットを投稿した。
Al-Hathloul was arrested in 2018. Her release is in line with the verdict announced in December that found her guilty of criminal activities and sentenced her to five years and eight months in prison.
ハズールさんは2018年に逮捕された。彼女の解放は12月に下された犯罪活動の有罪判決と５年間８ヶ月の収監にも一致している。
The court suspended two years and 10 months of her sentence. The verdict was pronounced in an open session attended by Al-Hathloul, her family, her lawyer, members of the local press and the Saudi Human Rights Commission.
裁判所は彼女の（禁固の）執行をを２年間１０ヶ月保留した。その判決にはハズールさん、彼女の家族、弁護士、地元新聞社、またサウジアラビア人権委員会が立ち会った。

サウジアラビアの活動家ジャイン・ハズルールさん、刑務所から解放
Prominent women’s rights activist, who campaigned for women’s right to drive and to end the kingdom's male guardianship system, spent more than 1,000 days in prison.
女性の運転権利、また男性の後見人制度の廃止への運動をした著名な女性権利活動家は1000日以上刑務所で過ごした。
Prominent women’s rights activist Loujain al-Hathloul has been released from a Saudi prison after nearly three years behind bars, according to her family.
彼女の家族によると、女性権利活動家のジャイン・ハズルールさんは３年間過ごしたサウジアラビアの刑務所から解放された。
“Loujain is at home !!!!!!” her sister Lina tweeted on Wednesday, posting a screenshot of al-Hathloul on a family video call.
「ジャインが家に帰ってきた！」と彼女の姉はツイートし、ハズルールさんとのビデオ通話のスクリーンショットを投稿した。
Lina later thanked supporters on Twitter but said while Loujain is at home, “she is not free”.
リナさん（姉）はTwitterの支持者へ、「ジャインは家に帰ってきたが、『彼女は自由ではない』」と述べた。
“The fight is not over. I am not fully happy without the release of all political prisoners,” Lina tweeted.
「この戦いは終わっていない。私は全ての収監されている政治家の解放が実現されるまで満足しない」とリナさんはツイートした。
Al-Hathloul, who pushed to end a ban on women driving in Saudi Arabia, was imprisoned in 2018 and sentenced by a court in December to an almost six-year jail term on terrorism-related charges, in a case that drew international condemnation.
女性の運転禁止を廃止するよう働きかけたジャイン・ハズルールさんは2018年に収監され、国は国際的に避難を浴びていた。12月にテロリズムに関する行為で６年間にも及ぶ収監を含む有罪判決が下された。
