Virtual Residency for Musicians - Academy (in English)

The Virtual Musician's Residence Academy is an online project in collaboration with professional Musicians.

About the project

Virtual Musician's Residence Academy is an online project for two months from June 1-July 31, 2020 to create a new piece with professional musicians. The work will be uploaded on Youtube and shared on SNS.

Wir also offers online courses (in Japanese). The online course will include a lecture on compositions, public rehearsals, and presentations by participating composers.

Schedule

Application deadline: Sunday, May 31, 2020
Deadline for the scores: Tuesday, June 30 
Rehearsal and recording: July 1 - July 31
Deadline for submission of video files: Friday, July 31
※The work must be unpublished.

Instrumentation for the pieces

Works for solo (around 1 minute, up to 2 minutes) 16 composers
Works for duo (1 to 2 minutes, up to 3 minutes) 8 composers
Flexible works (1 to 2 minutes, up to 3 minutes) 3 composers


If there are too many applicants, they will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. Each person is limited to one work. Both rehearsals and performances will be done online. Duos and flexible works will also be performed in the performer's home and will take the form of a virtual ensemble, so please think about it when creating your work.
