お妃になった順番にソロ回しが来るので、どの人がどの歌かがわかってると、舞台も余裕持って楽しめそう。

歴史的事実を踏まえた歌詞があちこちにあるので、歴史の勉強になります。

＜間奏＞ Green Sleeves
ところどころで Green Sleeves の節回しを使っているのは、この曲はヘンリー8世が Anne Boleyn に作曲して贈ったものという伝承があるから。ただしだいぶ眉唾らしい。

ロイヤルフラッシュ royal flush って、flash じゃなかったんだ…
勝手に、「ぴかー✨」ってイメージもってました。
ロイヤルな一続きの流れってことなんですね。

チューダー王朝といえば。
The Tudors とゆー、日本で言えば大河ドラマ的？いや昼メロ的？な、フィクションも相当入っていてかなり過激な描写もあるドラマがありまして。
ヘンリー8世とその周辺のお話は、ドラマ化したい要素がいっぱいなんでしょうね。
ちなみに脚本のMichael Hirst は映画「エリザベス」「エリザベス:ゴールデン・エイジ」も担当しています。
だからなのか、登場人物だけでなく、空気感がこの3作共通していて、続けてみると面白いです。宮廷のダンスとか、おんなじだし。

Anne Boleynと結婚するためには Catherine of Aragon と離婚しなければならない。でもカトリックは離婚を認めていない。
じゃあカトリックから離脱してしまおう、というのがヘンリーの取った策。
Anne は、Green Sleeves な服をよく着てたんだろうか？
そうまでして結婚したのに、産んだのは王子でなく、女児。それが後のエリザベス1世。歴史だなあ。

ラストの行の suddenly see more → "Suddenly Seymour" Little Shop Of Horrors にあるナンバーのもじりらしい。

他のお妃たちまでドイツ語で返してるのが良き。
ちなみに、ドイツ語では Anna von Kleve だそうです。
もひとつちなみに「赤毛のアン」は Anne of Green Gables。
肖像画が気に入って会ってみたらガッカリ、なヘンリーに離婚されたけど、Anna of Cleves は結構幸せに長生きしたらしいです。
肖像画を描いたのはホルバイン（英語読み）。ホルベインって、絵の具のメーカーですよね。画家の名前から来てたのか―、と今更。
ヘンリーのちっちゃな…は、次のPrickに続く。

しかしprick には、卑猥語のアレって意味もあるんですね。
Katherine Howard の名前は K 始まりなんですね。他の人はCatherine。
6人中3人がキャサリン、2人がアン。かぶってる名前多すぎ問題。
The Tudors ではかなり悲惨な感じでしたね、この若いお妃。

6人目のお妃、Catherine Parr。ヘンリー8世はほとんど介護状態だったらしい。Catherine はヘンリーと結婚後、庶子に落とされていたメアリー（Catherine of Aragon の娘、後のメアリー1世）とエリザベス（Anne Boleyn の娘、後のエリザベス1世）を宮廷に呼び戻して王位継承権を回復させるよう王に嘆願、彼女らを教育し、信頼を得た。
という辺り、「セシルの女王」（こざき亜衣）にもつい最近描かれていた。
I'm the survivor 節回しが Destiny's Child の Survivor を思い出させますね。
