本日も昨日に続きニューヨークタイムズの記事からの文書を一緒に解読してみましょう。分解の方程式（文法理解）は以下◆を参考にしてください。太字が今日利用する方程式（文法理解）です。

◆４つの文型：自動型、他動型、説明型、授与型

◆後ろから説明の９つのパターン：名詞、形容詞、副詞、動詞原型、動詞ing、過去分詞、to＋動詞、前置詞+名詞、文章

"A few years ago, the kind of double-digit drop in oil and gas prices the world is experiencing now because of the coronavirus pandemic might have increased the use of fossil fuels and hurt renewable energy sources like wind and solar farms."

この文書を読み解くには後ろから説明を加える①前置詞+名詞、②文章に注意します。

後ろから説明を加えている部分に（　）を付けると以下の通りになります。

"A few years ago, the kind (of double-digit drop) (in oil and gas prices) (the world is experiencing now) (because of the coronavirus pandemic) might have increased the use (of fossil fuels) and hurt renewable energy sources (like wind and solar farms)."

上記の（　）を外すと上の文章は以下の通りになりますね。

"A few years ago, the kind might have increased the use and hurt renewable energy sources." ここまでくれば、あとは読めると思います。andが接続詞となり、２つの文章を繋げていますね。そして文章は劉邦とも他動型になりますね。

英語の感覚で和訳すると、「数年前（であれば）、このような種類（のもの）はその利用を高め、再生可能エネルギーにダメージを与えていたでしょう。」
