From England to Japan, my journey to a new life: Part 1
My journey began with acquiring a passport, at 27 years old which is relatively old i guess, before embarking on a solo trip to Dublin, Ireland.
It was my first trip abroad, solo, I've always enjoyed my own company. I can go anywhere and do anything i want at any time i want to. So, Dublin, being my family's spiritual home, was my playground for a few days. Naturally a pint of Guinness was on the cards, along with the sights, sounds and general relaxed nature of the Irish gave me a bug………………..the travel bug.
Id only been back home a few days and i was pining to go somewhere else already, so i began looking for some deals and soon found a good one for Prague, in the Czech republic a few months later. i booked it and was already looking for things to do there. Once the time to go came, i was ready to explore the great, historical city of Prague, i had an idea of what i wanted to do and see and when but i wasn't prepared for what was going to happen on my first morning there.
Shortly after waking up, i had a quick wash and change before heading for breakfast. It was buffet style so i grabbed a bit of everything, couple of drinks and sat down. Then a few minutes later, a girl came and sat close by me, we looked at each other as she asked me if it was ok to sit there, i said it was fine and quickly explained that i was traveling solo, she smiled and told me she was traveling solo too, we began to have a conversation over breakfast. She told me she was Japanese, how long the flight took and what she was planning to do in Prague, everything seemed to stand still during that time.
One of our plans was the Astronomical clock, which was under refurbishment during our stay, so we couldn't see it. Other highlights include climbing the steps of Petrin Tower and seeing the light rain turn to snow about half way up, booking a restaurant for a romantic dinner only for it to be closed for a private function so we ate outside in 2 degrees Celsius weather at a nice quiet restaurant nearby, i ate duck as other ducks were nesting close by, and my personal favourite moment was a fresco of Jesus giving the finger in St Vitus Cathedral at the Prague castle.
Our plans matched so we agreed to travel solo together, we made a few adjustments, and we were on our way. We went everywhere together and enjoyed ourselves and each other's company, it quickly became a romance. On our last day, before our flight, we swapped Line and said a tearful goodbye. A long-distance romance had started to blossom from this trip, just like my last trip i was eager to go somewhere else soon with my new romance.
Strangely it didn't take us too long before we agreed to head on a two-week trip to Nice, Venice and Rome.
