夏の高校野球は甲子園から大阪ドームで開催するべき?
The season for high school baseball has come! Certainly, this is one of the symbols of Japanese summer.
However, it is also true that we might as well have the high school baseball competition in Osaka Dome. Here are some concerns why some people think in that way.
One of the concerns is the heatwave of Japanese summer. Can you imagine how hard it is to play baseball outside for hours? Even for this year, there has been several baseball students who suffered from heat attack. No matter how much people practice baseball and have a physical strength, it does not completely protect them from the heat. If we have the competition in Osaka Dome instead of Koshien, it would be such safer as we can avoid the direct sunlight and as the field is air-conditioned. Isn't that nice? Why do we have to prioritize the history of Koshien to students' safety?
The second concern is the inconvenience made by the weather change. As it has happened time to time, the typhoon hit the west part of Japan, and that messed up the train schedule. As a result, a group of students and staff to support Sendai-Matsudo could not actually make it to Koshien - what is worse to them, their team lost the game.
This concern also includes financial perspectives. As a team wins games, they must plan their trip schedule quite well; if they lose, they need to cancell their hotels and then book a train ride back to home. I'm too scared to even imagine the work load for teachers…
Once we have the high school baseball competition at Osaka Dome, at least teachers and parents don't need to be worried about weather changes. This is big, I'm telling you!
With this being said, the debate question goes: "We should have the high school baseball competition at Osaka Dome instead of Koshien. Do you agree or disagree?" Now take your stance, give two reasons to support, and standby! If you have any questions, leave your comments below.
