子供には、できるだけ早く「サンタは存在しない」と教えたほうがいい。賛成?反対?
It is almost a month away from Christmas! Have you got your plan? If you have children, probably your big mission is coming soon.
Here is the term about it - Christmas education. This is about how you teach your children whether Santa Clause exits or not.
Every family has a different style of Christmas education. Some parents let their children believe that Santa Clause exits, until they find out the truth from their friends or others. Meanwhile, other parents go simple. This is actually the case for me; my parents one day told me, "Okay everybody, tomorrow is Christmas. Get in a car, we will go to a toy shop! You can grab ONE item, whatever you want!" I was very happy about this way of Christmas education.
And this gave me a thought.
In a sense, when your child asks you if Sansa exists, and if you answer yes, you are making a lie. In theory, parenting should not involve any lies, should it? Why do you have to make a lie when raising a child? What are some merits? What is the point? Why would you let your children believe in a fake story? In the worst case, children get massively shocked to notice that Santa does not exist. If only parents didn't lie…
On the other hand, telling children that Santa does not exist at an early age seems straightforward and practical. This way, people seem to benefit more. In addition to the fact that they do not have to lie to their kids, parents would be respected more from their children. If children believe in Santa, they would never think that a gift comes from their parents. I understand that it would be a cute and fancy experience to receive a gift from Santa Clause (or to believe that way), but how about parents' effort? All the plannings, such as implicitly hearing request, searching for the gift, and paying money for it, should deserve appreciation, but it all goes to Santa, an imaginary existence. Is it any good?
With this being said, the debate question goes; is it better to teach children that Santa Clause does not exist as soon as possible?
