My weak point

Finally, I got a new job at a hotel in the city, which was a houseman. Houseman does support the housekeepers such as bringing items, new seats, doonas, shampoos, etc to them when they need it. And also at the hotel where I started working, the houseman receives the calling from the guests who call directly to his phone for the requests. But the main work of the houseman was supplying new linens and towels to each storage rooms from level 2nd to 12th during dealing with the guests' and housekeepers' endless requests.

For the first following three days, I was trained and worked with senior employees, and our designated work shift was 8:30 am through 3:30 pm. I know the senior had to teach me the job but in the middle of the day, we were so busy that we began working separately to finish the task, like the senior going to deal with the requests and I supplying the linens and towels.

Even we worked separately, we couldn't finish the day until 4 pm which was 30 minutes overworked. It happened because the senior got an incredibly vast of requests from the housekeepers, and most of them were bringing new doonas.

Doona is the particular Australian way to call a duvet. It's a thick sheet covers you when you sleep in a bed. And the hotel I worked at was running out the clean doonas. While bed-making if the housekeepers found stains in the doona or any sheets, they will have to change them to new ones. And the stained doonas were supposed to be washed by the housemen. According to the housekeepers, they've been asking the supervisors to buy new doonas because even after the houseman washed the doonas, the stains aren't removed and remain dirty. I've heard that at the morning briefing but the supervisor didn't give them any reasonable reason and the time when they buy the new doonas remained unclear. Then the supervisor just said, "solve it, yourselves until the new doonas come". But how?, I questioned soundlessly in my mind.

The fourth day since I started this work was actually the last day I worked at the hotel. At that day I had to deal with all the task alone as a houseman, supplying linens, running for the housekeepers' requests, washing the dirty doonas, and looking after the guests' inquiries. Without anyone's help, I kept running up and down all day and my phone never stopped ringing in every 15 minutes. And the person who asked me the most often was the supervisors. She even called me to put only one tiny-tiny little bottle of body lotion in the room when the housekeepers forget putting and that requests happened 3 times that day. You asked, why she didn't bring the body lotion with herself? It's because she was so busy to make the new orders to the people. In the end, I finished the work around 5 pm which was so faster than I expected because I didn't think I could ever finish. When I returned to the office, the nasty queen just said to me that I had to finish all the task on time, 3:30 pm.

But think about this, in the last following three days, even two people, we couldn't finish on time, then how is it possible that I, the new employee finish on time? I even couldn't take enough break that day. I was so exhausted and so disappointed at what she said and the workplace. So I decided to run away from there.

What you read above is all my excuse for the fact I run away from reality. Even how much worse the workplace was, what I did was not the right thing as an adult and was so irresponsible behavior. In a few hours after I skipped the fifth-day work, I just realized what my weak point was, that's what I tend to run away from responsibility. Since I was a university student, I kept avoiding responsible positions. And here, even in Australia, again I run into the same difficulties as in Japan. Wherever I go, the same situation follows me. Even if how many times I changed a job, the essence of my life challenging would be similar. I can't keep running away from them ever and ever. Now the time I have to face my weakness. I vow to myself never to run away from the responsibility and never give up myself.
