Cringy Youtuber
Since I found a funny American youtuber a few days ago, I've decided to write about him. But I think I might as well tell from the beginning how I found him before himself.
One of my Japanese friends has got an Australian girlfriend recently. He's five years younger than me but more independent I suppose. He is from Osaka, the western part of Japan which is different from my home area, Tokyo. So he has a particular Osaka accent. In addition to that, he has so good sense of humor that he's popular to other friends even with English communication.
While I listened to his story how he started the relationship with his girlfriend, he mentioned he was often told "cringy" in English by her. Since I had no idea what "cringy" meant, asking him, and he answered that the word, cringy is English slang and used to describe someone who is too romantic. He was told "cringy" when he expressed how much he was lucky that he could meet his girl. Except for this example, yes he is too romantic but in other words, he is passionate and thankful to people and things around him. I tried to find the English definition of "cringy" on the internet but I couldn't find the same as he explained at that time I met him. So after going home, I tried again but the definition of the word was slightly different from what he said to me actually.
According to Google, "cringy" means something or someone that makes you extremely awkward or embarrassed. Hmmm, I didn't think I got it, so I also tried searching youtube for the meaning. When I put "cringy" in the search box, I could see many video compilations collecting cringy people's footages which were supremely beyond my imagination. Most of them were extreme nerds attracted to Japanese anime and manga culture. In the clip, they expressed how much they love their favorite anime characters and also showing to viewers that they had the ability or charmingness as same as the anime characters One guy held the birthday party for his favorite female character by himself, no, actually with the female character's pictures. And he sang a birthday song and blew out the candles on her birthday cake, pretending to look like the singing and blowing were done by the female character itself. Keeping watching them, I started feeling unpleasant and awkward. Yeah, Google was right, this was the cringy, but speaking of the quality of entertainment, they were so funny that I couldn't stop watching.
"Littlecatboy"
When I became addicted to them, I found one youtube channel, whose name is Littlecatboy. In his clip, he is doing video chatting with strangers by using Omegle, an online face to face chat website and he broadcasts the conversations with stranger people.
In their chattings, if the speaker was a guy, he asks any pickup line or advice on how he should talk to women if he wanna get a girlfriend. On the other hands, if the stranger was a beautiful woman, he gives her compliments about how much she is attractive and uses the pickup line he just learned from the stranger guy and asks her to get married to him. One of the pickup lines he used was like this, "I read a bible, Jesus had seven miracles and you must be one of them." It's so cheap but to one extent, it works and makes girls smile.
When he was asked about himself, mostly he says joking which also makes them laugh and sometimes he sings and plays the guitar for them and he has a great talent for both of them. Because he can come up with the lyrics for a moment, which is relating to the speaker he's talking to. If he chated with a Swedish girl, he sings about a beautiful girl from Sweden and so on.
The common thing among all his clip is he tries to entertain the strangers he's talking to, regardless of if the person is a woman or man, beautiful or ugly, and, friendly or offensive. Sometimes he runs into someone who is offensive or unapproachable, however, he never extricates himself from the situation but face to the strangers and devises new joke, using to them.
I tend to like his clips because his way to treat the people is so fair, which is rare in this Internet world rife with silly bastards. And also I admire his singing voice, his appearance looks a Japanese or Chinese but he was born in India and raised in America so his accent sounds like Afro-American also while he sings. But the funniest part is, of course, watching how he could attract girls to himself. He is moderate but also very humorous and a great singer. I'll keep eyes on him.
