『Kool-Aid』はアルバム『POST HUMAN: NeX GEn』の3曲目。
今年の1月に配信されたばかりの最新ソングでしたが、年が明けた当時は少しBring Me The Horizonから離れていた時期でもあったので、実はあまり聴いていませんでした。
ヘヴィな雰囲気の曲である印象しかなかったのですが、この印象が変わったのが先日突然配信開始となった最新アルバムの『POST HUMAN: NeX GEn』です。
2曲目の『YOUtopia』が中々にエモーショナルで素敵な曲だったのですが、そのアウトロから繋がるように『Kool-Aid』が流れたのです。
この繋げ方が半端じゃなく良くて、これまでと正反対の印象を抱くくらいに好きになりました。
ギターの音も重々しくていいですし、ヘヴィなサウンドとクリーンなサビの対照さがめちゃくちゃいいんですよね。
公式で公開されているライブバージョンもめちゃくちゃ最高ですね。
原曲の時点で間奏の歓声だったり、ハンドクラップの音などが非常にライブ映えしそうな雰囲気の曲でしたし、これは生で聴けたら最高にテンションが上がりそうな楽曲です。
曲名や歌詞に込められた意味もまた深くて刺さる曲でしたね。
