Careful communication to bring out the client's ideal "shape"――Koharu's design technique
There is something soft and warm about the xAlice logo.
We interviewed Koharu, the creator of xAlice logo and background.
――Please introduce yourself.
I am designer Koharu.
I designed the logo and background for xAlice.
I originally jumped into web3 community in 2021 because I was attracted to BCG, but as I played the game and got involved with many people, I began to get attractive design and illustration jobs.
Since I am introducing myself, I would like to advertise a little.
I am personally involved in a project called "Super Cryptoman" and would be happy if you would take a peek.
――What was your inspiration for designing the logo and background?
First and foremost are Chon*-san's cute illustrations!
"What kind of design would make people feel more attractive?"
I tried to find the best way.
The design ideas were based on the "Alice in Wonderland" movies, books, and sundries.
For the logo, we worked with the team to carefully create the xAlice's "shape" little by little, while suggesting directions in terms of decorations and fonts.
――What is the meaning behind the colors and shapes of the design?
The background is a gentle shade to match the colors of Chon*-san's illustrations.
I also kept the overall color palette light so as not to clutter the illustration.
The background and logo are both designed with a "circle" in mind, giving the design a rounded "cute!
――What do you consider most important in design?
The important role of design is to maximize the appeal of the "Leading actor".
However, although I am completely behind the scenes, I also believe that the designer's color must also be brought out.
I always want to create a great design that makes people think, "I would like to work with this person again”.
――How did you communicate with the client?
I believe that the client already has a certain "shape" in mind.
It is important to draw out the "shape" in order to create a good design, while still showing the designer's color. For this purpose, I try to communicate with my clients little by little patiently.
Although I may have caused some inconvenience at xAlice.
However, the project manager, pnizo, responded very carefully to our requests, and I was able to work with peace of mind, so I am very grateful!
