Core Blimey interview
Hello.
I went to UK in a short time from July 11th to July 13th.
The purpose is to go to an event called Core Blimey.
That is the purpose.
I love hardcore music.
I am happy to meet an event called Core Blimey.
YouTube also uploads videos taken with CB.
I love CB, so I interviewed the host, Shaun.
Please see it.
1 )When has the CB been held since?
Core Blimey has been around since 2010 at first I ran CB with my 2 closest friends Phil & Paul who have since gone on to do other things and so Leaving me as the main CB Promoter.
2 )What made you start CB?
Why did we start Core Blimey..That's easy I absolutely LOVE Hardcore music. Since I heard my very first Hardcore Tape in 1998 (Bonkers 4 Dougal Disc) I have been hooked on the sound and I love it just as much to this day!.. Obviously I was a full blown Hardcore Raver back in the day attending all the raves from H.T.I.D, Uproar, Slamming vinyl, Hardcore Heaven and so many more. So seeing all these great raves and there being a decline in Events where I'm from (Stoke On Trent) we decided to give it a go, And so Core Blimey was born.
3 )What is most important?
Yea we always try to make our event different every time. Other raves have the same Themes Year in Year out. We like to be different from everyone else and the brain child behind the names is the Queen of Theme my wife to be Laura.
4 )What is the thing that you struggled with the most at CB?
The thing I struggle most with is time. Core Blimey takes up every hour of every day. Whether its sorting things out for the event or plain advertising & Promotion. With having a Wife to be and 2 kids along with a full time 50+ hours a week job it can be very demanding. But.. I love putting on CB events so it makes it worthwhile on the night.
5 )Why are you glad you organized CB?
Yes although very stressful sometimes I absolutely LOVE putting Core Blimey events on. To be fair I can say I'm probably addicted. Our first event was at a very small club in Stoke On Trent called Bar360.. We had around 12 people in attendance. So we carried on and took it to another club in Crewe called The Box. Here Core Blimey really took off as the Venue was perfect! Unfortunately due to the UK's HS2 Rail Network being built The Box has had to be knocked down, And now we are in Stafford at an equally impressive club.
6 )Who is designing the flyer and so on?
Our flyer designer is Chris Creed Leadbeater. He is also local to me in Stoke on Trent and has grown into one of the finest UK & Abroad rave designers going.
7 )There is always an MC on the main floor of the CB. Is this your commitment?
Yes as it has always been in the UK we have an MC on every set. Obviously unless a DJ opts to have no MC. The Ravers here Buzz off the MC's just as much as the DJs playing the music.
8 )How do you choose the venue?
How we chose the venue in Stafford. To be honest I went there many years ago and it only hit me recently to message them and see if they would like CB at their Venue. After a few phone calls, Facebook messages etc I decided to go and have a look and WOW! I fell in love with the place instantly!!
9 )Please tell us if you have any episodes when you came to Japan.
Unfortunately we have never been to Japan but as you know we absolutely Love everything Japanese and who knows one day we may actually run a Core Blimey in Japan.
10 )Please comment on the next Core Blimey Once Upon A Nightmare.
The next Core Blimey is the biggest line up we have ever had at a Core Blimey Event. Our main headline acts speak for themselves, Hixxy B2B Scott Brown B2B Dougal // MC2 (90 Minute History of Hardcore 3 deck set) & Joey Riot B2B Seduction // SE1 (90 Minute Lethal Theory vs Maximum Impact) plus a host of other DJ's inc, Klubfiller, Al-Storm, SY, Fracus & Darwin, IYF, Deathmachine and so many more!
11 )What is your message to the Japanese Hardcore Raver?
My message to the Japanese Hardcore Ravers is to always help each other, stay humble and as always Keep It Hardcore!! Hopefully we will see more Japanese Ravers heading over to the UK to check out Core Blimey & Never say never we may see you one day in Japan! If anybody wants to follow us on our Facebook page then head over to Core Blimey HQ.
Thank you CB for answering the interview.
