初詣に行き、おみくじを引くと「半吉」という見慣れない運勢が書かれていた。
なんだこれは、吉よりもいいのか？中吉よりも悪いのか？
半吉の位置付けが不明なため、喜ぶべきなのか、悲しむべきなのか分からなかった。
インターネットで調べてみると、半吉は、神社により半吉の位置付けは異なるが、と前置きがありつつ、「良いことが半分、悪いことが半分起きる」と説明されていた。
なるほど、それ故に「半」吉か、と納得がいった。
しかしおみくじの内容を見てみると、吉の部分はほとんどなく、凶が大部分を占めていた。
おみくじの一番上に記載されている詩の部分も「重荷を引いて炎天下を歩く」的なことが書かれている。ただの地獄だ。
各項目も悪いことばかり書かれており、例えば「縁談」の欄には「取り返しのつかないことになるから辞めとけ」との記載がされていた。
正月から落ち込んでしまった。しかし、半吉の説明が書かれたウェブサイトには、「半吉を引いた年が吉に傾くか凶に傾くかは本人の努力次第」とも書かれていた。厳しい一年になりそうだけど、自分の力で良い一年にしてみせるぞ。

I disappointed on new year. But the website also say that "it depends on you whether your new year would decline to lucky or unlucky".
This year is going to be harsh, but I make my new year great by myself.
