Coffee Roaster's Recommendation for an Interpreter on the Road

☕ 1st October is International Coffee Day where we celebrate the culture of drinking coffee.

I am certainly no barista and therefore not up to talking about coffee. However, allow me to introduce you to a pocket book of #essays compiled by a coffee roaster: 「#コーヒーと随筆」(“Coffee and Essays”) by Yuji Shono ( #庄野雄治 )
Shono’s concept is to select essays with timeless appeal that can be read over a cup of coffee.

🧳 Well, I don’t read them exactly over a cup of coffee. For me, it is more like a nightcap to be read in a hotel bed.
I often pack this book into my suitcase when travelling as an interpreter. You don’t want to carry a too heavy book with you on your business trip, but this one fits perfectly in any luggage.

Feeling the pressure to have a good night’s sleep before an important assignment? If so, your bedtime ritual may help. For me, reading a book is the thing. I find it soothing to turn page after page in bed – instead of endlessly scrolling.

This anthology is a collection of literary gems which do not necessarily have an intriguing plot but are so charming that you will want to read them over and over again.

What do you pack for your business trip?
