Abstract
Ikea has decided to stop using plastic packaging except for some things which need to use plastic packaging for their health and safety standards like food by 2028 to help our planet. Ikea said that plastic packaging will shift to mostly paper because it’s easier to recycle.
According to the Plastic Waste Makers Index, just 20 companies produce more than 55% of the world’s single-use plastic waste and the situation is getting worse, not beer.
The UN Environment Programme warns us that we must seriously cope with the situation.

What are your thoughts on Ikea's plan to stop using plastic packaging by 2028?

Although I think it is important to limit the amount of plastic, I also think we have to reconsider more drastically how to keep the economy going.
Actually, if most big companies stop using plastic packaging, it would be connected with reducing the amount of plastic garbage. However, I worry about raising the amount of trees that are cut because they have to earn materials which could be used instead of plastic. Will it really be possible to maintain only materials that are recycled?
There are limits to all things where there are on the earth.
So, I think we have to consider the current economic system that is growing due to mass consumption to protect the planet.
