日記95 : Sprouting Wings

Because I don’t often refer to this situation, I didn’t know how to express the state of having wings emerging. I knew this verb, but it is part of my passive vocabulary. This verb reminds me of vegetables.

In terms of Japanese culture, from the late 90s to the early 00s, the image of angel wings was popular and frequently used in games, manga, and music videos. It’s often said that trends cycle. For example, decades ago, 80s fashion and music became popular again, and recently there is a Y2K trend. However, it seems that the 90s trend, which is a bit dark and gothic, has never been revived. Are the images of wings and chains just too outdated?
