Who is TOBI

The dummybook series *who is TOBI* in contemporary art is a challenging project that explores self-exploration and the fluidity of identity. My photographic works, using a relaxed photographic style (脱力写真) and bricolage techniques, capture the beauty of chance moments and everyday life, providing viewers with a new perspective as an antithesis to contemporary art. This series emphasizes the contrast between vibrant color photos and black-and-white photos, highlighting the emotional layers and the diversity of moments through visual contrasts.

**Relaxed photography** is a style that eliminates special effects and tension, focusing on capturing natural and relaxed situations. It emphasizes capturing subjects and scenes as they are, aiming to bring out the beauty of everyday life and the charm of moments. By incorporating this concept of relaxed photography, my work becomes more relatable to viewers while simultaneously evoking deep emotional resonance. Through the character TOBI, I question the existence and identity of the self, illustrating its ambiguity and ever-changing nature.

The works express the interaction between an individual's inner world and external society through photography, offering viewers the opportunity to rethink their own identity and their relationship with society.

**Dummybook delivery** is a particularly unique aspect of this project. The works are offered in a rental format, and instead of monetary compensation, users contribute to the project with their abilities and resources. In the past, contributions have included nude modeling, lifetime free haircuts, free studio shooting fees, special features on YouTube programs, coffee and cheesecake, meal expenses, introductions to people, and video production.

The communication that emerges from this dummybook delivery allows those who rent to become participants, evolving the project. This approach, akin to the chain of exchanges in the "Straw Millionaire" story, creates the future, with the works gaining momentum and forming communities on their own.

Through this project, I am exploring what value is and how it changes depending on the person. The project continues to evolve in various forms as participants bring their diverse perspectives. While the direction is uncertain, I anticipate that the project will permeate society and communities in various ways, not confined to traditional exhibition spaces like museums and galleries.
