『実存を知るために雑談する』英語韓国語日記2025/01/02

I’m currently based in Kansai, but today, I had the chance to meet in person with people I knew during my two and a half years living in Kanto. It’s been more than ten years since we last saw each other face-to-face. While we’ve exchanged messages occasionally and kept up with each other’s lives, small talk, as they say, can be challenging. But there’s something about existence—something deeply meaningful—that only comes through when you sit down and talk in person. It made me reflect on how much I’d like to meet the friends, acquaintances, and colleagues I haven’t seen yet.

지금은 간사이에서 살고 있지만, 오늘은 10여 년 만에 예전에 관동에서 2년 반 동안 살며 알게 된 분들을 직접 만날 수 있었습니다. 가끔 연락을 주고받으며 서로의 소식을 전하긴 했지만, 역시 잡담은 쉽지 않더군요. 하지만 직접 만나 대화할 때만 느낄 수 있는, 존재라는 이름의 중요한 무언가가 있다는 것을 새삼 깨달았습니다. 아직 만나지 못한 친구와 지인, 그리고 업무로 얽힌 분들과도 다시 얼굴을 마주하고 싶다는 마음이 절로 들었습니다.
