【Medical Waste Reduction Project】 Participation in expert meetings ~Planetary Health Expert Meeting “Building the Future of Healthcare: A Vision for Sustainable and Resilient Health Systems with GGHH”~
Hello! This article summarizes my participation in the first meeting of experts since the launch of the Medical Waste Reduction Project.
On November 5, 2024, I attended the Planetary Health Expert Meeting “Building the Future of Healthcare: A Vision for Sustainable and Resilient Health Systems with GGHH” held at Global Business Hub Tokyo in Tokyo!
This expert meeting was organized by the Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI), co-hosted by Global Green and Healthy Hospitals (GGHH), and sponsored by the Japan Zero Carbon Welfare Council, Green Practice Japan.
This symposium brought together leading experts from Japan and abroad to share international insights, explore strategies to reduce the environmental impact of Japan’s healthcare system and identify opportunities for collaboration with the global community.
Through my participation and listening, I understood that the decarbonization of the medical industry and climate change measures in Japan are still in their infancy. In addition, I started the project with a focus on "waste," so I thought again that I would like to focus on waste issues in the medical industry first. This meeting was an opportunity for people who wanted to connect through their research so far. By participating in the meeting, I was able to make new connections, and I felt that I had a meaningful time.
I hope you can look forward to our future activities and support us!
Thank you very much for reading the article through to the end!
