南アフリカの巨ゾウの抱擁（インスタ翻訳シリーズ vol.6）

英語学習として、インスタの投稿の訳してみる、というチャレンジをしています。

以前はブログを訳していましたが、

①どれを訳すのかチョイスするのに時間がかかる
②今の英語力では、読み切るまでに時間がかかりすぎてしまう。

という課題があり、気軽にできていませんでした。

インスタ投稿を訳すのであれば、これら２つとも解決できそうだなと思い、始めてみました。
コツコツつづけて、100記事くらいまでいけたらいいかな、と考えています。

今回のお題

 In the Eastern Cape, South Africa, a bull elephant is helped to its feet by rangers after a veterinary team carried out a procedure to lance two cysts high on its shoulders. This is without a doubt one of the largest bulls I’ve ever seen. Relatively habituated, he lives along side two other bulls, that were waiting and watching, along with a ranger, for him to return to the herd. Once the elephant was back on his feet, all three bulls charged towards each other, trumpeted, and then spent the next 30 minutes gently exploring the body of the recovering dominant bull with their trunks, demonstrating the extraordinary bond that elephants have with each other. 訳してみた

南アフリカ共和国の東ケープ州にて。
獣医が巨大なゾウの肩にできた腫瘍を処置した後、レンジャーがゾウが立ち上がるのを手伝っている。今まで見た中で、間違いなく一番大きなゾウである。彼と連れそう２匹のゾウが、それを見守っている。
巨大ゾウが起き上がると、３匹はかけより、パオーンと鳴いた。それから３０分ばかりユッタリと歩き回り、鼻でお互いを抱擁し合いながら、調子が戻るまで様子を見ていた。
