Thibaut Courtois: 9/10

New season, same old Courtois. The Belgian put in a fantastic performance, making a number of brilliant saves to deny Frankfurt in the first-half. Simply the best.

Dani Carvajal: 7/10

Carvajal was tidy and composed on the ball and worked hard up and down his flank.

Eder Militao: 9/10

A lot of Madrid fans have been worried about Militao heading into the new season, and with the club signing Rüdiger many wanted the German to start. Tonight Militao showed exactly why he deserves to start for Real Madrid and it will be very difficult for Rüdiger to take his spot.

David Alaba: 9/10

Just like Militao, Alaba was as solid as ever at the back. The Austrian continued his great form from last season and even managed to score the opener.

Ferland Mendy: 6.5/10

Showed good glimpses at times but the Frenchman lost the ball in dangerous areas on the pitch. The shakiest of Real Madrid’s back four.

Luka Modric: 8/10

On a different level compared to Frankfurt’s midfield. The Croatian dominated proceedings before being replaced by Rodrygo in the second-half.
Casemiro: 9/10

Casemiro assisted Alaba for the opener, hit the crossbar with a thunderbolt in the second-half, won 9/13 duels and made the most tackles (9). A very solid shift from the Brazilian.

Toni Kroos: 8.5/10

Toni Kroos looked very sharp tonight and was especially good in the first-half. The German controlled every part of the pitch and also defended very well.

Fede Valverde: 7.5/10

Fede put in a tireless shift on the right flank and will undoubtedly play a big role in the team this season.

Karim Benzema: 8/10

We’ve gotten used to Benzema stepping up on the big occasion. The Frenchman stepped up yet again tonight, scoring Real Madrid’s second goal which cements him as the second highest goalscorer in Real Madrid history.

Vinicius Jr: 8/10

A constant threat down the left flank. The Brazilian was a nightmare for Frankfurt’s defenders and was unlucky not to have his name on the scoresheet. Assisted Benzema for the second.
