昨日は陶藝を教えてもらう日だったので先生に轆轤目のつけ方を訊いた。

「轆轤の回転を遅くして、それより早めに手を持ち上げていけばなるよ」と教えていただき、午前中その練習をしていた。

暫くして思い通りになってくるとそれを視た先生は

「作為的なものより、自然な方が美しい。だから効率良く挽く心構えが、１番美しい轆轤目がでるんだよ」

と教えてくれた。確かにそういう作品が自分も好きだし、何より民藝が好きなのを思いだした。

Yesterday was the day when I was taught ceramics, so I asked the teacher how to make a potter's wheel.

He was practicing in the morning when he was told that he should slow down the wheel rotation and lift his hand earlier than that.

The teacher who saw it when he got what he wanted after a while

"Natural is more beautiful than artificial, so the attitude to grind efficiently is the most beautiful potter's wheel."

Told me. He certainly liked such works, and remembered that he liked folk art more than anything else.
