Day 207 : Winter Root Vegetable
I have often mentioned in this note that I go to the farmer's market in the weekend.
This is the middle of Winter.
So, fresh root vegetables are tasty.
Among them, I love turnips. It's so sweet, soft but chewy and flavorful.
In the market, they were also selling some lemons (organic, I believe...).
So I thought of making quick pickled turnip with Lemon.
After I bought them, I remembered that I had soy-sauce pomace, which I got from making soy-sauce with my community members.
Then, I mixed the turnips with lemon and soy-sauce pomace.
A little sour, and a little salty but somewhat sweet with turnips' fresh taste!!
Word of the day
pomace : 搾りかす
Quote of the day
You can't squeeze blood from a turnip.
