Day 181 : The Three-Body Problem
I just read "Santai", or "三体" or "The Three-Body Problem", the Chinese best-seller Sci-Fi book.
It was well translated to Japanese and worth while reading.
While I was reading, I was wondering what kind of messages this author is trying to deliver with this kind of hard-boiled science fiction.
There are many parts that could be, I thought, controversial, especially in mainland China.
Then one of my friends told that this author has been paid a lot of attention by the Chinese government, although he has not been in detention at all...
But this book, and his other continuous books have been internationally renowned, I hope he should survive with his writing careers...
Word of the day
detention : 勾留、監禁
Quote of the day
“To effectively contain a civilization’s development and disarm it across such a long span of time, there is only one way: kill its science.”
― Liu Cixin, The Three-Body Problem
