Day 1,896: belligerent, impunity, unscrupulous, vie, spoils, secede


Middle Eastern states and Russia are sponsoring the belligerents with impunity.

Both are commanded by unscrupulous warlords vying for control of the state and its spoils.

One bloody conflict ended with South Sudan seceding in 2011.
