Day 157 : HBR
I belong to some communities, and at one of the groups in these communities, we pick up one English-written books and try to read it through that year, meeting at our community place monthly to discuss how we read it.
2 years ago, we picked up "Killing Marketing".
This year, "This is Marketing".
There are some people who are related with marketing, and that's why we chose these books.
Some rousing members at the first time become less enthusiastic, because they are too busy at their own works to read an unfamiliar English book.
Some members sometimes need to skip the meeting, then they tend to skip the others, then tend to give up reading.
Once you failed to read one chapter, it is hard to catch up, or understand the next chapter.
So, for the next year, we have just picked up Harvard Business Review's 10 Must Reads 2020.
We expect more people could join as they could pick up their preferred chapter, and they don't need to catch up with the chapters that they could not read in the previous month.
The leader of this group is so thoughtful that she recommended this book for all of us!
Word of the day:
rousing : 熱狂的な
Quote of the day:
“You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.”
