Day 227: The Remains of the Day
Graceful, elegiac, and humorous contexts.
As I have been reading this witty enough novel yet, I don't want to finish. That much I love it.
I liked "Never let me go" when I read it in Japanese.
But I thought I should read it again in English, as the English contexts of Kazuo Ishiguro could deliver his own message in a different way that the Japanese contexts do.
Word of the day
elegiac : 哀愁のある
Quote of the day
“If you are under the impression you have already perfected yourself, you will never rise to the heights you are no doubt capable of.”
― Kazuo Ishiguro, The Remains of the Day
