　"brave the element" の "brave" は動詞です。本文では形から動詞だと推測できますが，このように "brave" には動詞の用法もあります。もちろん意味は「勇敢に立ち向かう」です。 

　次に "element" ですが，こちらは「要素」とか「元素」という意味が最もよく知られていると思います。しかし「要素に勇敢に立ち向かう」では意味が通じません。辞書で確認してみると，「自然の力」「暴風雨」という意味が出てきます（『ルミナス英和辞典』研究社）。よって，

 "brave the elements" 　「悪天候をものともしない」

という意味になります。
