Situation in Ukraine
It's been 659 days since Russia invaded Kyiv,
so let's start with general matters.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
Russian losses are,
1,300 soldiers
10 tanks
22 armored fighting vehicles
12 guns
1 multiple rocket
33 drones
10 cruise missiles
22 other vehicles.
Overall,
89 ground battles were reported during the day on the front.
and the ratio of the number of Ukrainian military equipment losses to
Russian military losses,
which can be visually confirmed,
is 1 to 2.1.
Russian military losses are mostly civilian and
military trucks,
while losses on the Ukrainian side are marked by
nighttime infantry fighting vehicle movements that
suffer damage.
Here is a brief news report on the situation in Ukraine.
You can also use the YouTube chapter feature to watch where necessary.
1st.
The EU has decided to provide Hungary with up to
10.2 billion euros ($1.6 trillion) in frozen subsidies.
Meanwhile,
Hungarian Prime Minister Orban opposes
Ukraine's EU accession negotiations and
the €50 billion in economic aid for Ukraine,
and
has stated that
he will veto these agenda items before the EU summit that
begins today.
It will be interesting to see if Prime Minister Orban will change his opinion on this subsidy.
Incidentally,
Hungary's economic situation is tight and
struggling,
with GDP growth negative for four quarters and
inflation above 20% for 11 consecutive months.
Second.
The deputy editor-in-chief of President Putin's favorite newspaper has died unexpectedly at the young age of 35.
Tsareva,
35,
was deputy editor-in-chief of Russia's largest newspaper,
Her former boss,
editor-in-chief Sun Gorkin,
who wrote many articles that
pleased the Kremlin,
died of "sudden respiratory failure" last September,
Ms. Tsareva had taken over and
was writing Russian-leaning articles on the situation in Ukraine.
however,
she suffered a "respiratory illness,
A friend visited her at her apartment to visit her,
and
when Tsareeva told her that
she wanted to have lunch somewhere beautiful,
she fell into extreme respiratory distress and
died in her apartment.
Tsareva was added to the list of suspicious deaths that
have occurred in Russia since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine last February.
Third.
A series of "draft raids" have been carried out in Russia.
Draft raids are cases in which security forces detain disabled or sick people who are not supposed to be drafted and
force them to serve in the military.
There are two ways in which this is done: 1.
Suddenly detaining a draft ineligible person and
drafting him as an able-bodied person fit for conscription because there is no medical certificate on the spot.
The method of having a draft ineligible person submit his/her medical certificate for examination,
arbitrarily deciding that
he/she is fit for conscription,
and
conscripting him/her into the army.
After being drafted,
they may be forced to volunteer and
be sent to the front lines in Ukraine as assault troops.
Lawyers are urging people to "be careful not to be caught walking on the street or in their workplaces.
Now,
here is the war situation in each area.
I will tell you where the war situation is changing.
Northeast: Luhansk region
Eastern part,
toward Bakhmut
We will tell you about the war situation on the Kupyansk to Svatove-Kreminna line and
the area from Sibersk to Bakhmut.
The weather conditions are worsening along the entire front,
and
even though the ground freezes at night,
it melts during the day,
making the ground muddy and
foggy,
which makes it difficult to conduct operations.
In this sector,
the Russians attacked eight times in Shinkivka and
Petropavlivka,
twice in and
around the Serebryansky Forest,
and
four times in the Bakhmut sector.
Kupyansk sector
1st.
In Shinkivka,
Ukrainian troops counterattacked and
succeeded in pushing back Russian troops.
The 30th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Army,
which we reported in yesterday's video as having destroyed Russian tanks,
continued to advance and
assault Russian positions in the forests north of Shinkivka.
What we are showing you is from the Ukrainian side,
where they are operating in the forest area in poor weather conditions.
The detailed location and
extent of this one is not yet known,
and
we will update the battle map as soon as it is known.
Second.
According to the video with location information,
there is fighting east of Ivanivka,
at the location on the battle map east of the town,
confirming that
this location is the front line.
The image shown is from the Russian side and
shows a Ukrainian T64 tank destroyed by an anti-tank missile at the location shown on the battle map.
We have updated the battle map of this area from disputed to occupied Russian territory and
from recaptured Ukrainian territory to disputed territory.
Note that
the marks are dated,
so you can follow the changes in the war situation by viewing the map in full screen at high resolution.
Around Sibersk
1st.
Between Vessele and
Rozdrivka,
the Russians heavily shelled Ukrainian positions along the forest,
confirming the Russian advance to this area.
The Russian side is shown here,
where Russian troops are shelling the snow-covered forest,
and
ground attacks are expected in the direction of Vescere and
Rozdorivka in the future.
This area was recaptured by Ukrainian forces in May,
and
we have updated the war map to include Russian-occupied and
disputed territory.
2nd.
North of Sackhoivensetty,
Russian forces have advanced and
established a base in the vicinity of the battle map.
Ukrainian forces have responded,
but have not come close to stopping the Russian advance.
The image shown is from the Ukrainian Army's 54th Mechanized Brigade,
which observed the Russian positions from a drone before the attack.
We have updated the battle map of this area from Ukrainian recaptured territory to Russian occupied territory.
Bakhmut area
There was no change in the battle map in this area,
and
Tarasenko,
an officer in the 5th Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Army,
said,
"The Russians deployed trained soldiers to Bakhmut for an assault three weeks ago,
and
we saw the advance of the Russian forces.
However,
those soldiers were lost in the fighting,
and
the enemy's offensive capability is declining.
Mayorsk Area
In Pivdenne,
we reported yesterday that
Ukrainian troops had set up a flag on a botanical mountain,
and
immediately released a video showing Russian troops "pulling it out and
throwing it away,
stomping on it with their feet and
peeing on it".
The video is from the Russian Army's 132nd Motorized Rifle Battalion and
is purported to be a battle diagram.
In response,
the Ukrainian Army's 24th Mechanized Brigade released a drone attack on the location,
but there is no snow and
the footage may be somewhat outdated.
The Ukrainian military operation yesterday,
though President Zelensky also reported the success of the operation on social networking sites,
However,
the truth of the information war has become unclear,
so we have updated the battle map of this area from the area retaken by the Ukrainian army to the disputed area.
Southeast Donetsk Oblast
Weather in Avdiiivka is cloudy.
Lowest temperature -3°C,
highest -2°C
Today's weather forecast is rain
The following is an update on the war situation in the areas of Avdiiivka,
Marinka,
and
Vuhledar.
Avdiiivka area
Russian troops have made 37 attacks in this sector and
are continuing their assault towards the siege of Avdiiivka.
Russian attacks were initially unsuccessful in October due to the armored assault and
in November due to the failure of the infantry assault to make the expected advance,
so in December the focus is on the Ukrainian supply lines,
with an emphasis on night attacks by drones.
1st.
Around Krasnohorivka,
Russian forces are attacking in all directions.
Among them,
to the east of Stepove,
according to the located video,
Russian troops have crossed the railroad and
advanced in the direction of Stepove.
The image shown is of the 47th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Army,
which is counting in the trenches.
The battle map has been updated to show the extent of the Russian advance from the disputed area.
2nd.
In Severne,
the Russians have launched at least six surface-control rocket attacks on the village,
and
there is a possibility of a ground war in this area in the future.
Otherwise,
there was no other information that
could affect the war picture in this area.
Marinka Area
The Russians launched 10 attacks on the northern part of Marinka and
Novomihailivka.
The main town of Marinka has been captured by the Russians,
but the Ukrainian army continues to resist north of the town.
Ukrainian military commander Tarnavsky has denied Russian claims about the occupation of Marinka.
The positional video shows that
Ukrainian troops have repulsed Russian T72s at the location on the battle map north of Marinka,
confirming that
this location is the front line.
The image shown is of the 46th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Army and
is in the vicinity of the battle situation map.
There are no changes to the battle map.
The rest of the Russian army,
including Novomihailivka,
is on the offensive,
but the Ukrainian army is defending and
the battlefield map remains unchanged.
South,
Zaporizhia Oblast.
In this sector,
Russian forces launched four attacks near Priutne,
Verbove and
Robotyne,
but there was no information affecting the battle map.
South,
province of Kherson.
In this sector,
artillery and
drone attacks took place in Krynky,
The Russians conducted two airstrikes near the battle map west of the town,
shelled the center of the town,
and
lost BTR 82 east of the town.
Ukrainian forces hold Krynky with drone and
artillery support and
the battle map remains unchanged.
Other.
Gold bullion is growing in popularity in Russia.
According to the Russian Ministry of Finance,
consumption of gold bullion jumped to 75 tons last year,
15 times that
of the year before,
and
VTB,
which deals in gold bullion in Russia,
announced that
it has sold 23 tons of gold bullion to the general public this year,
a 30% increase.
Experts expect record demand
for gold bullion in Russia this year as a result of the weak ruble,
rapidly rising inflation,
changes in the tax system,
and
social unrest,
which have led to increased purchases of gold,
especially by wealthy individuals.
For Russia's wealthy,
this may mean that
gold bullion,
with its resistance to inflation and
war,
is an attractive destination to escape their money.
That's all for today.
Thank you for watching.
