Situation in Ukraine
It has been 704 days since Russia invaded Kyiv.
First,
a general matter.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
Russian losses were
740 soldiers
9 tanks
19 armored combat vehicles
12 artillery pieces
4 drones
34 other vehicles.
Across the front,
98 ground attacks were reported in a single day.
The ground has recently become muddy again as the cold weather has abated,
suggesting that the Russians have switched to infantry attacks.
And the ratio of the number of equipment losses of the Ukrainian army to the Russian army,
which can be visually confirmed,
is 1 to 2.2,
compared to the number of losses on the Ukrainian side.
The losses on the Russian side are dominated by infantry fighting vehicles and armored fighting vehicles,
while the losses on the Ukrainian side are marked by SUVs and tanks.
This is a short news report about the situation in Ukraine.
You can also use YouTube's chapter feature to watch where you want.
1.
Russian prisoners of war in Ukraine,
deployed on the front lines as Storm Z assault troops,
have recently been denied promised payment by the Russian government,
compensation for injuries sustained,
and even the privilege of receiving amnesty after six months of service.
Originally,
Russian prison soldiers were supposed to sign a contract for about 200,000 rubles ($320,000) with a monthly salary of 200,000 rubles ($320,000),
receive compensation of 3 million rubles ($4.8 million) in case of injury,
and even receive amnesty for any serious crime if they serve for six months,
all of which have been rejected by the Russian government in a number of cases.
According to the article,
the new Russian prison soldiers are not contracted by the Russian Ministry of Defense,
but are forced to sign a contract with the occupying government in Donetsk,
which means that the prisoners do not have the status of military personnel in the Russian army,
and therefore all the conditions offered at the time of enlistment do not apply to them.
We were told that Russian soldiers were thrown into a hole in the ground to be warned if they violated orders,
but it seems that they were also thrown into a legal loophole and became victims.
2.
The Intelligence Service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has successfully hacked and hijacked a top Russian company.
This time the target was IPL Consulting,
a company that handles information systems for the Russian military.
It would be like NTT Data in Japan,
to use a Japanese analogy.
According to the announcement,
a team of experts from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine hacked into the company's internal network and destroyed the entire IT infrastructure,
including numerous servers and databases of over 60 terabytes in size,
which affected numerous Russian companies working in the Russian defense sector.
Hacking in Russia has resulted in the theft of drawings of weapons,
military installations,
and satellite imagery data,
as well as the deletion of data from the Russian Tax Service.
3.
A Trafigura tanker carrying Russian oil was attacked by the Houthis in the Red Sea.
To briefly explain the relationship between Russia and the Houthis,
the Houthis are an Iranian-backed rebel group,
and Russia has received various weapons from Iran,
including the Shahed suicide drone,
for use in the war in Ukraine.
In other words,
Russia and the Houthis are on the same side through Iran.
And according to the Houthi statement,
in the biggest attack in history,
they attacked a Russian tanker.
According to media reports,
the tanker was suspected of seizing cargo off the coast of Greece,
carrying Russian naphtha and trading illegally to evade sanctions.
Now,
here is the war situation in each region.
Here are the areas where the war situation has changed.
Northeast: Luhansk region
Eastern part,
towards Bakhmut
We will report on the war situation on the Svatove-Kreminna line from Halkiu and Kupyansk,
and from the area around Siversk to Bakhmut.
The Russians were active in this area,
attacking 13 times in Tabayivka and Stelmahivka,
8 times in Terny,
and 11 times in the direction of Bakhmut.
Kharkiv Governor Sinev Bov reported heavy fighting in Shinkivka and Tabayivka.
Kupyansk region
1.
Russian troops launched another offensive towards Shinkivka,
and after an earlier offensive north of Shinkivka was lost,
this time the Russians advanced through the forest and came to the exit of Lake Liman and the forest to its east,
where they were repulsed by Ukrainian artillery fire.
Russian troops may be advancing in the forest,
so caution is advised in the future.
2.
In Tabayivka,
Russian forces launched a ground assault after dropping FAB 500 glide bombs on the settlement,
and fighting continues.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that Russian troops are advancing and the entrance to the settlement is now the front line.
Tabayivka is a small settlement of about three houses.
The size of the contested area in this vicinity has expanded.
Svatove-Kreminna line
1.
Russian troops have been attacking east of Terny,
but they have not been able to break through the Ukrainian military defense line,
and have been repulsed in the same places three days ago,
the day before last,
and yesterday,
and in similar places every day.
What we are showing you is the latest of these,
at the location indicated on the map,
where the wreckage of numerous Russian military vehicles can be seen.
As you can see,
the Russians are no longer in this location,
so we have updated the map from Russian occupied to disputed territory.
Bakhmut Area
1.
As we reported in yesterday's video,
Russian troops were counterattacked by Ukrainian troops in Bohdanivka and may have changed the direction of their attack.
According to the Russian Storm Z commander,
Bohdanivka is located in a low-lying area compared to its surroundings,
making it "an easy target for Ukrainian forces," he complained.
Now,
according to the position video,
Russian troops have advanced from Bohodanivka in the direction of Hryhorivka,
making the location shown on the map their base.
What we are showing you is from the Ukrainian side,
where we are observing the Russian trenches at the location shown on the battle map.
We have updated the battle map to show this location as occupied by Russian forces from the disputed territory.
The Ukrainian army has recently been using 105mm anti-personnel shells,
which have a similar effect to cluster bombs,
and they are using them in Stryker armored fighting vehicles and Leopard 1 tanks provided by the West,
and they seem to be having an effect.
Other than that,
the Russian attack was repelled by Ukrainian forces,
and no other information was available that would affect the battle map.
Southeast Donetsk region
The weather in Avdiivka is cloudy.
The minimum temperature is 0 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is 1 degree Celsius.
Today's weather forecast is cloudy.
The cold weather has abated and temperatures will be around 0 degrees Celsius.
Here is an update on the war situation in the direction of Avdiivka,
Marinka and Vuhledar.
Avdiivka sector
In this area the Russians carried out 20 attacks near Avdiivka and 9 attacks on Pervomaiske and Neveleske.
According to regular reports from the British Ministry of Defense,
the Russians continue to attack Avdiivka as a priority target,
and as we reported in yesterday's video,
the Russians have entered the city through underground sewers,
but the Ukrainian military is also counterattacking and the supply lines in Avdiivka are intact.
The Russian army has entered the city through underground sewers,
but the Ukrainian army has counter-attacked and the supply lines in Avdiivka are intact,
so the Ukrainian army is likely to remain in control for the next few weeks.
1.
Northwest of Krasnohorivka,
Russian troops launched an offensive with tanks,
but Ukrainian troops responded with tanks,
and the fact that Russian tanks were destroyed and abandoned confirms that this location is the front line.
2.
The Russian assault force also attacked south of Veseret,
reaching the location shown on the map,
where they were met with a counterattack by Ukrainian forces,
causing the Russians to retreat with losses.
Other unconfirmed reports indicate that the Russians advanced at Pervomaiske,
but there is no information to confirm this yet,
Elsewhere,
in the residential areas south of Avdiivka,
in the Vozhane and Neveleske axes of attack,
the Russian offensive was repelled by the Ukrainian forces,
with no information affecting the battle map.
Marinka direction
Russian forces launched 14 attacks in the direction of Heolyivka and Novomihailivka,
but no information was available to affect the battle map.
West of Marinka,
Russian troops are firing artillery,
drones,
and thermobaric bombs at the mapped location north of the pond,
and a ground attack may be imminent.
South,
Zaporizhia Province.
In this sector,
the Russians launched seven attacks at Zolotaniva,
Priutne,
Chervone,
Verbove,
and Robotyne,
but the Ukrainian forces were repulsed and the Russians had no success.
There is no change in the battle map,
but there is information that west of Robotyne,
a Leopard 2A4 tank and an M113 infantry fighting vehicle were damaged by the Russian attack.
South,
Kherson Province.
The Russians have made four attacks in this sector,
but the battle map has not changed.
The Russians have reorganized their units in this sector and are attacking with 7 battalions,
but the Ukrainians are still holding the bridgehead.

In a social networking post marking Holocaust Remembrance Day,
Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev wrote: "Russia will do everything to ensure that Ukraine disappears from the face of the earth forever.
Russia will do everything to make Ukraine disappear from the face of the earth forever," he wrote.
Medvedev is said to be a hardcore alcoholic,
and when Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Moscow last March,
he appeared drunk in the Kremlin and was asked by the press,
"What do Western countries think of President Xi's visit to Moscow?" When asked by the press what the West thought of President Xi Jinping's visit to Moscow,
he replied,
"We and the West are happy.
When the mass media asked him if he was angry,
he replied,
"Yes,
I am angry.
Vice President Medvedev is known for his radical statements,
but it seems that his background is alcoholism.
That's all for today.
Thank you for watching.
