Situation in Ukraine
It has been 707 days since Russia invaded Kyiv.
First,
a general matter.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
Russian losses were
1090 soldiers
10 tanks
32 armored combat vehicles
51 cannons
2 multiple rocket launchers
16 drones
44 other vehicles.
As for aircraft,
one Su34 fighter-bomber was shot down in Luhansk.
Across the entire front,
there were 70 reports of ground fire in a single day.
And the ratio of the number of losses of Ukrainian equipment to Russian losses,
which can be visually confirmed,
is 1 to 3.2 compared to the number of losses on the Ukrainian side.
The losses on the Russian side are dominated by tanks,
armored combat vehicles and SUVs,
while the losses on the Ukrainian side are marked by SUVs.
Not included in this figure is a Lancet self-destructing drone that spotted a powerful German-supplied PzH 2000 self-propelled artillery gun and attacked it twice,
failing both times.
In the video there seems to be a protection system for the drones.
This is a short news report about the situation in Ukraine.

1.
Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate,
GUR,
announced a successful hack against the Russian Defense Ministry's communication servers.
It announced that this had resulted in the disruption of communications between Moscow-based units.
The software has been approved by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) as meeting its standards for information protection and has been installed in various Russian military installations.
The operation is ongoing and may cause more damage in the future,
and it is unclear if this is related,
but major Russian websites such as Yandex and VK have also been disrupted.
Second.
Something unusual happened to President Vladimir Putin.
At a joint press conference with President Lukashenko in St. Petersburg on January 29,
Russian President Vladimir Putin wore a strange expression,
and The Sun,
which reported this,
said that President Lukashenko,
who was standing next to him,
also looked surprised.
The Sun reported that President Lukashenko,
who was standing next to him,
was also surprised.
Third.
Bi2,
a rock band from Russia,
held a concert on the Thai island of Phuket and were subsequently arrested by local Thai police.
Formed in Belarus and active in Russia since 1999,
Bi2 has dominated the charts with songs such as "Traitor to the Motherland," "Sexless and Sad Love," and "Taken by the Army," and has written theme songs for numerous movies,
as well as The band was also famous for its opposition to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Many of the band members still hold Russian citizenship and have been active outside of Russia,
and the band's leader had criticized President Putin and stated that he would not return to Russia. According to reports,
there is a possibility that he will be deported to Russia.
The article also suggested that there may have been some outside pressure on the Thai police. The article also suggested that there may have been pressure from the Kremlin.
Incidentally,
the island of Phuket is a popular tourist destination for Russians,
and there may have been many Russians in the audience.
Now,
here is the war situation in each region.
Here are the areas where the war situation has changed.
Northeast: Luhansk region
Eastern part,
towards Bakhmut
We will report on the war situation on the Svatove-Kreminna line from Halkiu and Kupyansk,
and from the Siversk area to Bakhmut.
In this area the Russians attacked 7 times at Shinkivka and Tabayivka,
4 times in the forests of Terny and Serebryansky,
and 3 times in the area of Bakhmut.
Kupyansk area
In the area of Tabayivka,
The Russian army may be concentrating its forces for a new breakthrough,
while it is unclear whether the Ukrainian army is able to defend itself due to a lack of ammunition.
Information warfare continues to be active in this area,
as it is a place where information is scarce to begin with.
Russian military bloggers claim that Russian forces have completed the capture of Tabayivka and are advancing further west,
while the Ukrainian General Staff reports that they have repelled Russian attacks east of Pishchane.
We will leave the battle map as it is until further information is available to confirm this,
and will let you know if we learn anything.
Svatove-Kreminna Line
The Russians bombed Terny and concentrated their forces in the direction of Yampolivka,
south of the city,
but were unable to break through the Ukrainian Army's defensive line.
The position video shows a Ukrainian drone observing Russian soldiers in the border forest at the location indicated on the map,
as it has been confirmed that this location is controlled by the Russian military,
The battle map has been updated.
Also,
a destroyed Russian T80 tank can be seen in the area to the south,
indicating that this location is the front line.
Bakhmut area
Since the Ukrainian army recaptured this area on January 28,
the Russian counterattack has been unsuccessful,
and there is no information on any significant change in the battle map,
However,
the video with location information shows that Russian troops are conducting drone strikes against Ukrainian positions along the railroad tracks south of Bohdanivka,
as shown on the map,
The battle map has been updated to show that Ukrainian forces have retaken this location.
Otherwise,
the Russian attack was repulsed by Ukrainian forces,
and no other information affecting the battle map was available.
Southeast Donetsk region
The weather in Avdiivka is cloudy.
The minimum temperature is -5 degrees Celsius and the maximum is 2 degrees Celsius.
Today's weather forecast is cloudy.
The weather is mildly cold for the end of January.
Below is an update on the situation in the Avdiivka,
Marinka and Vuhledar regions.
Mayorsk area
East of Niuyork,
which we reported in yesterday's video had been retaken by the Ukrainian army,
there has been no further news and the battle map remains unchanged.
This area was controlled by the Donetsk People's Republic on the Russian side prior to the invasion of Kyiv in February the year before last,
but the Ukrainian army has recaptured the area with this attack,
which is thought to be a political message to the Russian side.
The Avdiivka direction
In this area the Russians carried out a total of 24 attacks on Avdiivka,
Pervomaiske and Neveleske.
1.
According to the video with location information,
the Russians attacked and advanced in the forests of the factory area south of Avdiivka.
The Russian side is shown here,
with infantry operating in the area.
This location was retaken by Ukrainian forces on the 11th of this month,
but it appears that the Ukrainian forces had already withdrawn prior to this attack,
and Russian forces took over the area.
We have updated the battle map of this location to Russian forces occupying the Ukrainian recaptured area.
2.
In the residential area south of Avdiivka,
there is no change in the battle map,
but Ukrainian prosecutors reported that they have opened a murder investigation after a 47-year-old woman who lived at the location on the battle map died in her home as collateral damage during the Russian military offensive in recent days.
Otherwise,
Russian attacks in this direction have been repulsed by Ukrainian forces,
and there has been no change in the battle map.
Marinka direction
The Russians launched eight attacks in the direction of Heolyivka,
Popieda and Novomihailivka.
Of these,
in Novomihailivka,
the Russians launched major attacks in the north and south,
all of which were repulsed with heavy losses.
1.
To the north of Novomihailivka,
the Russians advanced in columns,
but the unit was destroyed at the location shown on the map,
with two tanks and three infantry fighting vehicles destroyed,
as shown in the photo.
2.
Also in the south,
at the location shown on the battle map,
the Russians advanced in a large convoy,
but were repulsed by Ukrainian troops,
who destroyed 7 tanks and 4 infantry fighting vehicles one by one.
The images shown here are from the area indicated on the map.
The Ukrainian military had retaken this area last week,
but has now declared it part of the disputed territory.
South,
Zaporizhia province.
In this area,
the Russians launched two attacks in Zolotaniva and one each in Verbove and Robotyne,
which were repulsed by Ukrainian forces.
Meanwhile,
in Priutne,
where we reported yesterday that the Russians had advanced,
the Russians continued their offensive and advanced.
The Russians advanced in columns,
then infantry deployed and took over,
but from the video it appears that there was little counterattack from the Ukrainian forces.
The image shown is from the 218th Tank Regiment of the Russian Army and is the view of the location on the battle map.
We have updated the battle map to show this location as partially occupied by Russian forces from the area retaken by the Ukrainian Army.
The area is approximately 1 square kilometer.
Backward areas
Today,
a fire broke out in a building housing the Communist Party in downtown Moscow,
and an explosion occurred in Sicherbinka,
also in Moscow.
Experts say the attack may have been caused by a Yugoslav drone that painted the exterior with conductive carbon to cause a short circuit.
The video shows bright flashes of light.
South,
Kherson province.
In this direction,
the Russians carried out eight attacks in Krinky,
the same as yesterday,
with no change in the battle map.
That's all for today.
Thank you for watching.
